Narsus suggets Arslan to have a hunting feast in the plain near Lusitanian fortress, St. Maruyal Castle. The propose is to let soldiers exercise archery and horsemanship, and to put on a demonstration to Lusitanians.
In Yekbatarna, Giskal orders two commanders to deal with Arslan and his army. The two commanders leave and talk about the war. Giskal thinks of crushing Arslan and his army, killing Andragoras and Tahamine, destroying Silvermask and Boden, so he can gain the new empire which contains Lusitania, Maryam and Pars. Innokentis comes and tells Giskal that he's worried about if Pars and Maryam become allies to attack Lusitania. Giskal is astonished by Innokentis' thought, but he tells him not to worry but just pray to the god.
In St. Maruyal Castle, the count announces that Giskal has ordered them to hold up Parsian army in St. Maruyal as long as possible. When he leaves, a young girl, Yetwal, calls him and insists to join the battle.
While Parsians are hunting in the plain, Lusitanians attack them, thus they have a fight. Darun is disturbed by an arrow, but he later finds out the arrow is from a young Lusitanian female knight. Parsians keep approaching to St. Maruyal Castle, and eventually conquer it. Darun and Kishwade announce that Lusitanians can be allowed to live if they surrender. However, Lusitanians choose suicide. The young girl who was defeated by Darun comes up and curses Arslan. Arslan decides to give her some food and water and lets her go, but she refuses. She is rather tortured than saved by mercy, because she believes it is the spirit of a loyal Lusitanian kight.
The door of the dungeon is opened, the young girl sees Arslan comes in with a bowl of food. The girl refuses to eat an opponent's food, but Arslan tells her that if she eats, she's consuming an opponent's resource. The girl finally eats and tells Arslan that her name is Yetwal, a beginner of Lusitanian knight. Then Arslan and Yetwal talk about something else but they argue about their beliefs. Before Arslan leaves, he asks Yetwal to hold a ceremony for the Lusitanian deaths tomorrow morning while Farangese will hold the ceremony for the Parsian deaths.
In the palace, someone is reporting to Giskal about St. Maruyal Castle has been stormed, the people were killed in the battle or committed suicide, only injured people have been saved by Parsians, and Parsians will start off from St. Maruyal soon.
After Arslan gathered up all the food and weapons, he decides to bring all the injured Lusitanians with him, so they won't be attacked by beasts. He also tells Yetwal to take care of them.
Silvermask comes back to Yekbatarna. He tells Giskal that he is prince Hilmes, the son of Osris, the nephew of Andragoras. He also says that he trusts Giskal so he tells Giskal his identity. After Hilmes leaves, Giskal ponders Hilmes' attemption of telling him he's actualy a member of Parsian royal family, which makes Giskal uncomfortable.
Hilmes meets someone who is a worshiper of "Snake King - Zahoke" (an evil religion) and says that he needs help. He is suggested to get a holly sword, Ruknabate.
In the morning, Giskal is told that Silvermask is gone. Thus Giskal goes to see imprisoned Andragoras. In the dungeon, Giskal tells Angragoras that he just met Andragoras' nephew, Hilmes. Angragoras tells him that Hilmes died already. Giskal chuckles and asks Andragoras who that masked man was. However, Andoagoras asks Giskal that whether he really knows who Hilmes is. Suddenly, Andragoras breaks the chains and seizes Giskal's sword. The situation in Yekbatarna is totally changed, Andragoras has occupied a tower in the palace and has gotten Giskal as a hostage. The nobles come to the palace together and suggest Innokentis to use Tahamine to force Andragoras. While Innokentis refuses the advise, Tahamine walks in and tells Innokentis about letting her go to Andragoras and talk to him. The nobles are against Tahamine's idea and claim that Tahamine is an evil woman. Innokentis gets really angry and insists to let Tahamine go to Andragoras.
Tahamine walks into the chamber to meet Andragoras. Andragoras says that he's glad to see her again. Tahamine answers that she only loves her child, and yells to Andragoras to give her back her child.
Yetwal is amazed by Arslan's charisma that he has gotten so many loyal friends, and they are all willing to follow/serve him. Arslan leads his army toward to Yekbatarna without knowing a big change is coming to the capital of Pars.
