Ryoga asked himself, as the wanderer suddenly found himself fighting for room. This happened sometimes, one moment he was headed straight for the Dojo and [poof ] instant crowd. He sighed knowing it was only another way that his life was cursed. It wasn't bad enough that he had the world's worst sense of direction. It wasn't bad enough that he was cursed to turn into a pig. Forced to fear for his life every time it rained. Knowing safe haven only in those places where pork was considered inedible. It was knowing that the only person who really cared for you only loved you as a pig. Her P-chan. How he hated that. And yet her love for him was unconditional. Freely given and he treasured it. Being raised in a family whose members continuously got lost, Ryoga was starved for love. Any kind of love. He knew but didn't really know his parents. He became an emotional black hole. Seeking warmth and not finding it turned to other sources. He first found it in his rivalry with Ranma. Ranma became a focus for his anger. Yet someone who he could count upon. Why else would he rely upon a boy who continually humiliated him every lunchtime to lead him to school each day. He had finally gotten ready to accept Ranma as a true friend. All he needed was to find a way to cement their friendship. Knowing that Ranma was a Martial Artist helped a lot. Three months before he announced the showdown. Ryoga trained. He trained in the few techniques he knew. Then deciding to give Ranma a challenge he took a training trip. He traveled around the world. Anywhere he met other Martial Artists he stayed as a student and while training memorised the most powerful, most lethal techniques each style provided to him. He meant to give Ranma the fight of his life. Then win or lose, finally begin to cast off the shell, the armor he had built around himself for most of his short life. On the day of the fight he got lost. He cursed his sense of direction then. He had to fight Ranma soon. Ryoga knew that Ranma and his father had planned a training trip to China to enhance Ranma's already formidable skills. He renewed his efforts to reach the lot. Counting on Ranma's honor as a Martial Artist to give him the chance to escape the misery his life had become. It took him four days. At any other time it would have been a miracle. But not that day. Ranma had left. His training so important that he could no longer wait for his opponent. His friend. Ryoga was angry. Couldn't that jerk have waited a few more hours? Then he realised that Ranma had waited as long as he could. He wasn't alone he also had his father to think about. Ryoga then did the only thing available to him. He followed Ranma to China. Desperate for release, he reasoned that in China or in Japan once the fight had taken place he could begin his life again. That changed at Jusenkyo. After he was bumped into the Spring of Drowned Pig and almost being eaten by a Panda and the guide. His focus changed. Ranma had betrayed him. If that jerk had waited, he would not have had come to China. This ... would never have happened. He then began to hate Ranma. Hate all he stood for. Ryoga then swore that he would defeat Ranma. His rival. His Nemesis. After this he began the true hunt for Ranma. He perfected upon what he had learned. He learnt new devastating techniques. His memories of Ranma changed. The easygoing rivalry between the two boys became something more serious. Ranma was now a bully, picking on him at the bread fights at school. When Ryoga confronted him he did what all bullies did. Run away. With this image in mind he hunted Ranma. His tormentor, determined to destroy the source of his pain. This hatred became his focus, filled his inner void. As a result his abilities as a Martial Artist improved. The art became a crucible. He ignored pain. Focusing his mind his spirit on one goal. He lost himself in the pursuit of vengence, content in destroying Ranma Saotome. Until he fell in love with Akane. It was after he learnt that Ranma had truly been responsible for his misfortunes. How dare he treat me like I was his friend. After he learned what he put me through. He thinks we could just let this rest? She then protected him against his tormentor, the source of his agonies. She kissed him then. It was a just a pet kiss. But to Ryoga. It was earth shattering. That kiss was like rain to a drought striken country. It brought love into his wretched existence. With glee he saw his foe quiver with rage as he was safe in Akane's hands. Then he was awed by the trust she placed in him as she took him into her room. Her world. Though she only saw him as a pet, she cared for her small charge and the love and affection she showered upon the pet pig was eagerly absorbed. Her protective nature made Ryoga feel secure. Provided a much needed constant in his life. She was cared for him, protected him and helped him. Akane became his Sun. Showering him with all he was denied before. He felt unworthy in approaching this wonderful girl. He began to seek the Dojo, eager for the love she gave him. Then his accursed sense of direction began working against him. Taking him far away from what he so desperately craved. 'I wish that this stupid curse of mine would give what I really need' SPLAT! Ryoga frowned as he peeled the flyer from his face. 'So much for that wish.' he thought as he idly looked at what had hit him. It was a flyer proclaming = Welcome to the Placid Lake County Faire= The flyer further went on to state that everyone would enjoy themselves with other assurances to stay at the faire. As he started to crumple the paper he noticed what language it was printed in. English. With that he noticed where he was. *Well that's part one*
