Hiei walked up to Kurama and stopped, less than a centimeter away, their bodies almost touching. He reached up and pulled the taller boy's head down to his and kissed him. Hard. He could tell Kurama was surprised, but knew that there would be no resistance. He wasn't blind; Hiei had seen the surreptitious looks Kurama had been shooting at him and certainly wasn't naïve enough not to be able to read them.

Kurama blinked, and found himself staring into a pair of unimaginably determined glowing red eyes, which seemed to have a defiant look in them. Although this was something he'd always dreamt about, he had never expected his wishes fulfilled. However, not one to question unexpected pleasures, Kurama allowed himself to deepen the kiss and slide his hands down to Hiei's waist. Hiei responded by pressing his body against Kurama's and placing his hands flat on Kurama's chest, encouraging him to embrace him more fully. Kurama encircled Hiei's body with his long arms and crushed his body against Hiei's. He backed Hiei up until they reached an obstruction- a tree. For as long as possible, their lips were connected; everything was shared. Their saliva mixed as each tongue entered and retreated from the other's mouth. Gasping for breath, they pulled apart.

Suddenly pushing forward roughly, Hiei braced himself against the tree for support and flung Kurama away from him. Kurama was so surprised that he lost his balance, his actions defying his background as an agile youko; he crashed to the ground. But as soon as his mind registered that he was lying on his back, he encountered a new sensation as his tunic was practically ripped open and a small mouth was administering wet kisses down his chest. He shivered as a warm summer breeze floated over them, rustling the leaves and making Hiei's spiky hair flutter. However, neither noticed, both being… a bit distracted.

Everything was forgotten- inhibitions, misgivings, and everything else. They lay together in the long grass basking in each other. Kurama's tunic and pants… slipped off, and Hiei didn't even pretend to be indiscreet. He ripped his tank top off with a fiery feral look in his scarlet eyes and practically dove back onto Kurama, his black trousers fluttering in the wind behind him.

"I have waited far too long for this!" he half whispered, as he lowered his head to attack Kurama's body hungrily. He fiercely explored Kurama's shoulders and chest with his hands and his mouth, evoking heaving shudders from the fox, who lay prone on the soft green grass. Kurama responded in earnest, arching his back and gripping Hiei's sides.

Soon their bodies and their souls were irrevocably intertwined. They were one. They became a part of each other- if either left, then the other would be forever incomplete.

The two demons lay together underneath the towering tree, leafy green in the spring shadowing them from the bright sumlight. Kurama, now having time to think- not being so preoccupied- was wondering why Hiei had suddenly become so bold.

"Hiei."

A sleepy "hn." was his answer.

"Thank you."

". . ." And then "what for?"

"Because. . . well, to tell you the truth, I never thought that, well, . . . that you wanted me."

Kurama knew Hiei was awake and listening, even though he had turned around and was curled up in Kurama's arms. He didn't know what he wanted to say, but he knew that he had to say it.

"You know, I've wanted this for a long time. But-I didn't think you'd have me. I mean, you didn't seem to want anybody. No, of course not. . . . um. . ." he blundered on, until finally he realized that he was babbling. He shut up, face warm, feeling more than a bit foolish.

Hiei smiled to himself, listening to his fox --his fox? Where did that come from? Well, I guess he is, now-- fumble on, thinking he always had to explain everything.

--Not everything, fox. Some things you just know.--

He squirmed around until he was facing Kurama, and whispered softly, "You know, you talk entirely too much.," silencing any half-hearted protests his lover might come up with with an oh-so-gentle kiss, which deepened into a bonding closer than anything either had ever experienced. When they parted, Kurama lazily opened the eyes he had closed during the kiss and gazed into Hiei's huge expressive (when the fire demon let them) rosy eyes. He knew Hiei couldn't, or wouldn't say it yet, not out loud, but he let his eyes, like a rainforest waiting to be explored, express his feelings for him. And when he searched those scarlet eyes, he knew Hiei felt the same.

The End
