Chapter 3
by: Rose Argent
"HIEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!" Kurama's scream echoed around the woods for a few moments, then slowly faded away. Kurama lay on the ground, gasping for breath and looking dazed. Then he suddenly sat up and hissed. Yuusuke stared at his friend, wondering what was wrong with him. First that weird crap a few minutes ago, and now Kurama was deathly pale, his eyes wide and staring right through Yuusuke. Kurama mumbled something like "I'm sorry, I understand now." then his head snapped back and he screamed in pain, falling back to the ground. Yuusuke was about to rush to the read-head's side when Kurama got to his feet and brushed himself off. He looked up at Yuusuke, a deadly serious expression on his usually gentle face. "Hiei's in trouble. He's hurt badly and someone is holding him captive." Kurama snapped. "What the fuck is going on?! A few minutes ago you were bawling your eyes out because you thought Hiei was cheating on you, then you acted as if you were having sex with the thin air, and now, all of a sudden, you know that Hiei's in danger? You have some serious explaining to do!" "First we find Kuwabara and get going. We'll need Koenma's help too, if we're going to find Hiei in time. I'll explain on the way." Yuusuke frowned but nodded his acceptance. He grumbled darkly to himself as he and Kurama left the park. ****** Hiei felt dimly felt himself orgasming, but even as his hips thrust upwards and his seed spilled out, all his attention was focused on making Kurama understand what had happened. He almost smiled when Kurama said that he did understand. Help would be here as soon as Kurama could figure out where here' was. Then, without warning, his connection to Kurama was broken off and the backlash tore through his and Kurama's heads. He screamed in agony and nearly blacked out. As his vision slowly cleared Hiei saw Migami staring down at him angrily. He saw Migami's foot flying towards him and tried to move out of the way, but his battered body had no strength left and he lay helpless as the taller youkai's kick connected with his already broken rib. Hiei choked back a cry as pain radiated from his side. "What were you doing? Contacting your friends? That was really stupid. Now I'll have to punish you again. But first, I'll make sure that never happens again." Migami closed his eyes and Hiei wished fervently that he had the strength to take advantage of the moment. Then he felt Migami enter his mind as brutally as he had entered his body. "Damn" Hiei thought as he felt his consciousness slipping away "He's a telepath. Should have known that...." Migami picked up the limp koorime and lay him down on the pillow at the head of the bed. He smiled faintly as he stroked Hiei's cheek. "Ah, you are so lovely, my little plaything. Your friends will come, but I know their strengths and weaknesses now, thanks to you. I shouldn't have any trouble preparing them a suitable welcome." Then the youkai got up and left the room, locking the door behind him. ****** Koenma stared calmly at the angry Youko before him. Kurama glared back and snapped "What do you mean you forbid me to go?" Koenma sucked on his pacifier for a few seconds then replied "You are too worked up about this. You'll make mistakes. I refuse to lose one of my best agents because he can't control his temper. Yuusuke is S-class and Kuwabara will be backing him up. They'll do fine against a single S-class." Kurama fumed, then smiled slyly, his eyes glinting gold. "They may not need me for the battle, but Hiei is seriously injured, and will need a healer for us to get him out of there. Unless you plan on sending Yukina into a battle, I'm the only one who even comes close to being a healer." Koenma stared at Kurama for a moment and then shook his head ruefully and sighed "Much as I hate to admit it, you're right about that. All right, you can go." Kurama smiled smugly and stepped back, tossing his red hair over his shoulder as he turned to face Yuusuke and Kuwabara. "Are you guys ready?" the youko asked quietly, his face set in a stern mask. Kuwabara nodded shortly, but Yuusuke glared and said "Yeah, but if you think I'm gonna let you take charge here just because it's Hiei who's in trouble, you're very wrong. We go when I say we do, not before." "No, you go when I say you do" piped up Koenma from behind his desk. "But yes, once on the mission, you are in charge Yuusuke. Remember that Kurama." Kurama ducked his head briefly and moved to stand at Yuusuke's left shoulder. The three boys stood and watched as a portal to the Makai opened before them. ****** Hiei moaned softly and opened his eyes. His head ached fiercely and he found it very difficult to breathe. He tried to sit up, but fell back weakly as pain stabbed through his head and ribs. He lay quietly on the bed until the pain began to ebb slightly. Then he carefully pushed himself up on his elbows and leaned back against the headboard. He brought his hand up to massage his aching temples, then froze as his fingers felt smooth skin beneath them, rather than the expected bandanna. Hiei ran his fingers gently over his forehead, feeling the closed eyelid of his Jagan. "Closed? When it's not warded?" The fire demon whispered. Worriedly, he reached into the well of power that flowed within him and was startled when he hit a solid wall. He could sense the power of his Jagan flowing strongly behind the wall, but he could not reach it. He reached for the ki to use any of his other attacks, and found the same wall preventing him from accessing it. He almost panicked for a moment. He wasn't warded, he would know it if he was. Even the ki ward on his wrist was gone. All his power, all his ki, was completely unwarded but for some reason he couldn't reach it. He tried to push at the wall, but it was entirely unyielding. Hiei took a deep breath to clam himself, and almost cried out as his shattered rib complained loudly at the abuse. He gingerly lay back down on the bed, feeling exhaustion begin to creep up on him again. He continually fought down panic. He was hurt badly and he couldn't even access his ki to speed the healing process. He was helpless. He hated being helpless. He slipped into a fitful doze, only to snap awake as he heard a the door swing open. Migami smiled at him from the doorway, his blue hair shimmering in the light from the hallway. "It's good that you're awake. Your friends will be here soon, I can feel them nearby, and I want you to watch as they're killed. It will be the final proof that you can't escape." Hiei's eyes narrowed and he glared heatedly at the lanky figure in the doorway. He desperately wanted to wring Migami's neck, but he couldn't even sit up without great effort, much less spring to his feet and strangle an S-class who was much stronger than him. Migmai smiled again and casually said "I'm sure that by now you've realised you can access neither your ki nor your Jagan. That is, of course, my doing. I am, as you may have guessed, a telepath." his smile became mocking and cruel "Sometimes humans, or other creatures, are given formidable powers, but an event occurs which makes them subconsciously refuse to use those powers. Most of those people are never able to get rid of that inability, even should they discover the existence of their powers. It's called a mental block. What I did to you was simulate that effect. You can not now, nor will you ever again, use any of your powers or use your ki in any extraordinary way. Unless of course you find another S-class telepath to remove the block, but that will never happen, because you will never leave this room again. Welcome to Hell, dearest." Hiei lay on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. A black pit opened up in his heart and threatened to swallow him whole. Never again...? Unless he got out of here. But Migami knew that Kurama and Yuusuke were coming, probably had a trap ready. If they didn't make it.... he'd lose Kurama and his freedom, forever. Despair filled Hiei and he moaned softly and closed his eyes. Hiei felt the bed shift as Migami walked across it. He was so sunk in misery and pain that he didn't even bother to open his eyes and look as the tall youkai knelt straddled across his hips and leaned in to kiss his neck and nibble gently at his earlobe. When his actions received no reaction Migami frowned and jabbed a finger into Hiei's side. Hiei made a strangled sound as Migami bent his broken rib further and his eyes snapped open involuntarily. He found himself staring into Migami's luminous eyes. Migmai leaned in again and whispered in Hiei's ear "Your friends will be here very soon, but I think we have time to play a little more before they arrive. Then I'll kill them all. I'll save the youko for last, and then I'll let you watch as I kill him slowly." As soon as Migami uttered those words, a bolt of anger pierced the haze in Hiei's mind. No one threatened Kurama. Hiei's arms shot up and his hands closed around Migami's neck, a deep growl emerging from his own throat. Migami laughed shortly and pried Hiei's hands away without any effort. Hiei struggled violently, the pain in his ribs and head forgotten in a rush of adrenaline. But Migami easily pinned Hiei to the bed, smiling mockingly as Hiei vainly tried to escape his grip. "Little one, you're weak as a ningen baby right now, you really don't stand a chance." Eventually the adrenaline rush faded and Hiei felt the last of his strength flow out of his body. He lay still beneath Migami, his eyes fluttering as he fought against the sleep that tried to drag him down. He couldn't even gather the energy to bite Migami's tongue as it pushed it's way into his mouth. Hiei lay limp as a rag doll as Migami raped him for the second time. The pain caused by the larger youkai's brutal thrusts melded with the pain from Hiei's head and ribs and joined with all the other smaller pains, numbing his mind and pulling him down into darkness soon after he felt Migami spill his seed into him. Migami lay beside Hiei's inert form and murmured "After I take care of your friends, I think I'll heal you a bit. It'll be much more fun if you struggle." Hiei moaned in his sleep and thrashed weakly. Migami's grin grew wider as he heard the little koorime mutter faintly "Kurama". Then Migami reached into Hiei's mind and sent him into a deep, dreamless sleep. He laughed softly as he thought aloud "Oh yes, it's going to be fun to kill that youko. I'll have to make sure that it's a truly spectacular death." ****** Kurama sneezed and looked up at the massive building looming before the three Reikai detectives. Hiei was in there somewhere, he knew it. Then Yuusuke said sharply "Well, let's go" and the boys strode towards the structure, faces grim and set. To be continued......
