Married... if - part 3 - by maco² 02191999

It's Monday morning, and everyone is bored to go to school. Kyo and Shingo walked along the corridor which is wide and filled only by some students. After taking out some texts inside their locker, they walked past a school janitor mopping the floor.

"Kyo."

"Who?", Kyo stopped while Shingo is merrily strolling ahead of him. he looked behind to see janitor whose face is hidden by the shadow of hiscap staring back at him. He looks strangely familiar to him and in a few seconds he recognized it was Iori. His heart raced up his bloodstream. For a moment he felt joyful. But then he remembered and was about to turn around when Iori grabbed his hand gently and said, "Wait."

Iori handed Kyo a heart shaped box of chocolates and and roses with a note, "For my dearest" Kyo was speech less. With slight hesitation, he accepted the gifts with a hand and glanced at his lover's eyes. It was subtle and calm.

Shingo, from a few steps away, noticed Kyo wasn't beside him and looked behind. He saw Kyo in a trance with Iori whom he recognized through his disguise. He felt as if a needle pricked his heart and frowned bitterly. Then with a mischievous grin he shouted out loud, "Hey, everyone!!! Iori Yagami is here!"

Suddenly like hundreds of bees buzzing out a hive, the students of each room went out and spotted Iori. They swarmed around him noisily. Surprised by the commotion, Iori got separated from Kyo, who in turn left the scene abruptly.

"Master Iori! It's a great honor that you grace our humble school with your glorious presence.", shouted afanatic.

"Ne?", Iori became annoyed and disoriented.

Kyo and Shingo went pass the flood of students wanting to catch Iori. Kyo walked silently while Shingo snick ered behind. Like an actor, Shingo took the box of cho colates and the roses from Kyo and asked cheerily, "Is this for me, Kyo-chan?"

"Uhhh.... Yeah.", Kyo replied dawdling.

"Wow! Gee thanks, my Kyo-chan!", Shingo thanked. He opened the box and ate the chocolates.

And so, Iori planned to seduce Kyo back to his arms again. Kyo and Shingo dated for an overnight in a classy hotel. He found out about this and took a room beside theirs. The two saw Iori went in beside their room. They pretended not to notice him and decided to get a tan.

Kyo appears terribly hunky in that dark eye wear while reading a local magazine. Beside him was Shingo, of course, checking out at his studly dreamboat in trunks. Tired of reading, Kyo spread the magazine on his lap. Then just in front of him, Iori was wearing a tight bikini showing off his six pack and chunky biceps el natural. Turning around, Iori posed his long muscled legs and emphasized his tight, firm butt.

Kyo just pretended to look straight ahead through his shades. But covered underneath by the magazine, he's getting a boner.

Shingo is now pretty jealous of Iori. So when a waiter passed by, he intentionally trips the guy with his foot. The waiter stumbled at Iori, glasses flying in the air.

"Ooops.", Shingo smirked. SPLASH!

Iori mumbled beneath the water and swam away. Damn that Shingo, he thought, just one more time.

Finally, Iori planned the last thing he could think of.

That evening, Kyo and Shingo dined in the hotel's deluxe restaurant. Shingo kept chatting to Kyo who only responds with a nod. At the front stage, the lady singer carooned the audience with her wonderful voice and received an applause from the delighted audience.

"Thank you. Thank you everyone.", Athena Asamiya exclaimed, "Next I'm proud to present to you an honored guest with us in this fabulous hotel. He gladly offered to sing for us this night. May I present to you, Iori Yagami of the fabled "Riot of the Blood" band.

The audience were surely delighted to see Iori walk up the floor with a guitar. Kyo was definitely surprised to see him and so was Shingo, in an ill manner.

"I think I ate something bad.", Shingo complained falsely while covering his mouth. Kyo kept staring at Iori and replied silently, "Uh, yeah. Just go ahead and I'll catch up with you." Shingo rose quickly and left the dining hall.

Sitting in front of the microphone, Iori gazed darkly around the audience and met with Kyo's blank glance at him. Iori lowered his head and closed his eyes. Thenhe spoke, "For you."

Iori strummed the guitar mildly and sang, "Take me down to the underground. Oh please would you take me down..." This is the first love song Iori sang for him when they still courted each other, Kyo remembered. He felt his heart melting like ice as Iori lifted his head and looked at him through his solemn eyes. Iori kept singing and the moment seemed like eternity once more. And the memories flowed through the words and both their hearts. For they know they still love each other.

author's note: Cheesy.

Iori stood up before the mesmerized audience. Athena herself was entranced. He reached down his pocket and glanced at his beloved, "Kyo..."

He was cut short when an alarm rang across the room. "Fire!", shouted a woman. The crowd almost panicked but was able to restrain themselves so that they can escape easily and safely. Kyo himself was rushed outside by Shingo who came out running down the hall and tagged him outside. Iori was left with an empty audience.

"Hey, Iori! Let's get outta here.", Athena cried out loud.

Outside the building the crowd can see the blaze eating the room beside the one Kyo and Shingo took. The firemen were busy putting it out. After a while, the fire died. The crowd feeling relieved, scattered and went by theirbusiness.

"Whew! That's the fire?!", Shingo bluntly commented, "Come on, Kyo-chan. Let's come back later."

They turned their back around but abruptly halted. Under the moonlight, a silhouette of a dark wraith-like person stood in front of their way. It's hand burned withfiery cobalt. His darkened face lit it's eyes in adeadly glance.

"Iori...", Kyo spke softly.

"Shingo Yabuki!", the warrior soul spoke, "I challenge you... for the LOVE OF KYO!"

"What?!", Kyo exclaimed while Shingo was taken aback.

The clouds gloomed the moon's light as it converged with each other. The cold winds howled. Below the three figures paused, waiting for the forst move.

Then Shingo, pale and tremblng, courageously stepped forward and clenched his fists. He doesn't know if he can fare well against the power of the dark. But still, he cannot allow to forsake his love against fear and stood his ground. He held his stance and concentrated at his rival. The dark figure clenched it's fists and the blue flames dispersed. His eyes bloodshot. He raised his hand to release the dark fiery force.

"No, stop!!", Kyo interrupted, pushing Shingo aside. "Huh?", Iori halted.

"What?", Shingo wondered and stepped back.

"The fight is not between you and Shingo, Yagami. It's ours.", Kyo spoke aloud. Iori replied nothing.

"You have dishonored my being. You betrayed my affec tions for you. I will avenge myself from your infidelity, Yagami!"

The words stroke Iori like a thousand swords. He did nothing else but lowered his head. Kyo himself was sur prised by Iori's unlikely actions. There was a moment ofsilence.

"I miss you Kyo.", Iori spoke regretfully, "I cannot stoop down to beg for your forgiveness... even if I have wronged you, but I will fight back for the love I can't afford to lose!"

With the bitter sharpness in his tone, Iori threw a roaring fire blast at Kyo. The other, almost overwhelmed by the swift attack, caught the projectile in his palm, neutralizing it with his own reddish flame. But he noticed he felt a solid box also caught in his palm. He looked at it and saw a silver box with a rare design.

As he opened it, he was surprised to see a ring. He looked back at Iori again, his eyes glistening with half-filled tears. He wanted to speak out, but his mouth shuts him up.

Iori slowly walked towards him and touched his hand. Their eyes met again. And finally, Kyo answered... "Yes."

Shingo cried. Poor guy.

- the end. There's still a short epilogue... :P
