Sorry again if there were some spelling errors, cuz I was just trying to read them off the picture and it's hard to make it out.  Okay, about the movie...um...well.  If you haven't watched it...don't read this. Or read it anyway if you're curious and don't mind spoilers.    Okay...first of all, in my opinion, the animated movie was very poor compared to the original manga (comics) by CLAMP.  I don't know...I thought that most of the people looked really demented, but overall, the animation was really wonderful.

Second, the storyline was changed in order to fit the plot all into a shorter version of the comics.  Well, you see, it is shorter, but it definately isn't better.  Most of the relationships and characters lack the development that is present in the books, and so their motives and speech seem a little queer if you don't know the story already.  Also, a LOT of the events were altered, such as Kamui's mother bearing the sword instead of his aunt, and Kotori giving the other sword (and dies from it...weird) instead of her mother.  And if I remember right, Kotori and Fuuma's parents don't even get mentioned in this movie.   That's pretty sad, cuz half of the emotional plot is already gone.  (Not to mention that Kotori didn't die from being stabbed then cut up by Fuuma into all these pieces...well...you get the point).  Another example is that we don't know why Sorata was protecting Arashi (like his vow and "love"? for her), so they just die and it's not too sad when you don't know their relationship.

Thirdly, my third favourite character was replaced!  Yes...Kakyou was replaced by this really odd looking guy called Shogo Asagi, most likely because it cuts a lot of the script out cuz...well...can't really explain cuz I haven't read all of the comics and I don't know much about Kakyou except that he is a dream person (sorry!  don't know what to call it!), like Hinoto and Kanoe (correct me if I'm wrong).  And this new guy is not as good looking, but his powers are pretty cool, does this water thing...there's a larger pic of him near the bottom of this page, if you are interested...(scroll down)

Forth thing that could be improved, is that the fights were really brief, and they barely say two words to each other before one of them dies...so yeah, not very much action in order to suit the shorten version of the original story.  I am, the only time you see Kamui do anything is the last part where he finishes Fuuma off.  (and yeah...you practically don't even get the feeling that they were once friends, so when he died...he just "died".)   Not to mention that they hardly explained that when Kamui chooses to become either the Dragon of Earth or Dragon of Heaven that Fuuma must become the other one...so it seems that Fuuma turned evil for no reason practically.  Oh yes...and Subaru and Seishiro shows up near the beginning and fight for less then 5 seconds before they both die.   (and you can't even see HOW they died).  So poor Subaru...^.^

Okay!  I'm done now!  So...if you don't mind all those things...go rent it.  Overall, it was pretty good, except for the briefness of everything.  But I highly recommend the manga, cuz it rocks!  Yup...I think this movie was a bit longer then one and a half hour, quite worth the money...^.^

Note:  I stole this lovely background (sketch of Kamui) from somewhere, and the place where I stole it from I believe it does not belong to the original owner (cuz it was a site of stolen stuff like mine), so I would really like to give the person credits, so e-mail me if you are this person or know that person.   Thx!  Oh yeah, that goes for the person that scanned these pictures too.   ^.^  E-mail me at trunks_trowa@geocities.com and I'll give you credits and add your link!
