Your site is WONDERFUL. I love my cajun roots, and grew up hearing stories of Chenier and Grand Isle and the big hurricane. I sleep every night in the huge four poster bed my great grandfather bought second hand in New Orleans when he moved to Westwego fo lowing the death of too many friends and family members in the 1893 Cheniere Caminada. QUESTION: "Gris gris, chick a la pa" (no idea of the spelling) what does it mean? I remember chanting it as a child. If anyone would know, I bet you do! Thanks, Patty

Hi I an searching for name/names addresses or web sites of people who might be interested in a Louisiana 1853 old two story home who might want to use the wood (lots of 2 inch by 12 inch cypress planks and many other sizes and fireplace matels, etc. In other words, purchase and demantle it for the lumber etc. Cliff

   Janie, aaaaaaeeeee! I love your cajun website and it makes me homesick. I was born in Louisiana but have been in Texas most of my life. I do have a son-in-law from Lake Charles. My band got to open for Justin Wilson a few years ago, so I've tried to stay connected with Louisiana. I'm glad for you to see me and I'll probably be back four or three times, I guarantee!
