THE CUCKOO'S NEST
Fooled you!! You thought you would find a beautiful genius, right?Well all you can do here is read all about (Janis Nihart) and my family. I named it "The Cuckoo's Nest" after one of my favorite movies, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. In addition to our bios, I have included our favorite characters and lines from the movie. The music that you should be hearing is by Tchaikovsky. It is my favorite.

HI! It's me again. I was born on the Bayou(Raceland-that's where the hospital was) but lived the first 18 years of my life in Grand Isle. After that I got married and moved to New Orleans, Millington,TN., Norfolk,VA., Havelock,NC, back to Millington, back to Havelock, back to Grand Isle, back to Havelock, then to Dayton, OH., then to 3 different cities in California(Tustin, Santa Ana, and Fullerton). Now I am back in Louisiana. Whew! Running from the law is tiring! Then I went to college and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Elementary Education(I am so amazing!!!No, You're not , you idiot! Yes I am!!!! Shut up!!!).I am now a second grade teacher. My interests are etymology(language origins, NOT bugs), reading(about disasters, eschatology(I hope I spelled that right),using big words, mysteries, assassinations,serial killers,( anything strange), watching MilleniuM reruns,Brimstone, Seinfeld reruns, Justice Files,The New Detectives--Case studies in Forensics, Vengeance Unlimited, the X-Files,CSI,and Law and order(all 3). I ,also, love lighthouses. I actually own one--Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. I claimed it as my own when I first visited. I drive a blue car, and my favorite stooge is Shemp, with Curly running a close second. I teach second grade at Galliano Elementary. I dislike lies and arrogance--arrogance more than anything. And boy are there a lot of arrogant people around!!!! .

Dennis Nihart
Dennis was born in Gulfport,MS. He is the family "redneck". He enjoys singing at our church, Community Bible, watching sports(As a result, I HATE sports), and ignoring my constructive criticism of him(How else do husbands learn?).We met at Louisiana College in August of 1971 and were married by December of 1971. When he asked me why I came to Louisiana college, I told him to find a husband. After that, he started following me around.
Paul Nihart
Paul Curtis was born February 22,1983, at Wright Patterson Air Force base in Fairborn, Ohio. Paul loves art and computers. He is currently working on his own website and spends most of his waking and sleeping time drawing.He hopes to one day develop his own cartoon series. He is very creative and has won several art and design awards. (See His artwork and His cartoons.He is attending Louisiana Tech in Ruston and majoring in Graphic Design. He has worked part-time for their Marketing department as an illustrator/graphic designer. He has designed their 2003 Official La. Tech Christmas card and many other things for the University. He has won 5 ADDY awards on the District Level(3 Gold, one Special Judges award, and a People's choice award). He also won 2 ADDY awards on the regional level in OKLAHOMA City. There he won 2 gold awards. In his Junior Year at Tech, he was chosen as Most Outstanding Graphic Design student.

What can I say about my Little Jerdy>>>>Jordan Richard is another "Buckeye" born in Ohio AND also born on February 22, but in 1984. He loves video games and music. He played the tuba in the South Lafourche band. He always won awards (since 7th grade)in band, except for two years when a certain band teacher was at SL WHO...WELL i'LL NOT GET INTO THAT. ANYWAY,In his spare time, he learned to play the clarinet, and also plays the baritone and trombone. He attends La. Tech and majors in Computer Information Systems. Although Jordan chose not to try out for the La. Tech band, he is now the music leader at his church in Ruston, Grace Bible Baptist. He just couldn't stay away from music very long. Jordan loves Chinese food and and Cajun food that includes rice. He loves rice more than anyone I have ever known.
David Nihart
Then there's Dave>>>>David Wayne moved down here when he was 12. He was born July 7,1975, at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. He graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Nicholls State University. There are very few current pictures of Dave(but I did manage to find one). He feels the less pictures there are of him circulating, the more valuable they will be in the future. Kind of like a rare stamp.He pretty much has the same interests as I(Janis) do. I say I influenced him, but he says that he has influenced my interests. He is a third grade teacher in Lafourche Parish. He attends Bayou Baptist in Grey,Louisiana.

Favorite Characters and Quotes
**R.P.McMurphy- sent to the mental hospital from a work farm to be evaluated for his violent behavior. He is happy to be away from the work farm,but he is oblivious to the fact that he is in the mental hospital as long as they feel it is necessary. Because he thinks he will be there only for the time of his sentence, he spends much of his time goading and confronting Nurse Ratchet.
**Nurse Mildred Ratchet- the scheming, power-hungry, head nurse inthe ward- On the surface she appears to be sympathetic and efficient, but Randall Patrick McMurphy sees right through her.
**Chief Bromden-a silent observer of all that goes on in the ward(in the book, he is the narrator)
**Harding-an intellectual who has trouble relating to his wife and has little patience with the others in the ward
**Martini- a playful little man with the mind of a child who enjoys annoying others
**Charlie Cheswick- a nervous, childish man who finds a hero in R.P. McMurphy
**Billy Bibbit- a young man whose fear of his mother has driven him to commit himself. Here he finds Nurse Ratchet, a friend of his mother and just as intimidating.
