Hymns of Grace

      ********************

I love the old time Christian hymns. They tell of God's love for us and the price that he paid to redeem us. God's Grace is wonderful. He sent Jesus to die for us. Jesus paid the price! I haven't found even one Contemporary Christian song that I like. They are, in my opinion, too generic. They remind me of mantras. The hymns that I have included on these pages are hymns of God's Grace. They tell of God's Gift of Salvation.

      At Calvary

Years I spent in vanity and pride
Caring not my Lord was crucified
Knowing not it was for me he died
      At Calvary
By God's word at last my sin I learned
Then I trembled at the law I'd spurned
Til my guilty soul imploring turned
      To Calvary
Mercy there was great and grace was free
Pardon there was multiplied to me
There my burdened soul found liberty
      At Calvary

      Rock of Ages

Rock of Ages, cleft for me
Let me hide myself in thee
Let the water and the blood
From thy wounded side which flowed
Be of sin the double cure
Cleanse from wrath and make me pure.
      Could my tears forever flow
Could my zeal no languor know
These for sin could not atone
Thou must save and thou alone.
In my hand no price I bring
Simply to thy cross I cling.
While I draw this fleeting breath
When my eyes shall close in death
When I rise to worlds unknown
And behold thee on thy throne
Rock of Ages ,cleft for me
Let me hide myself in thee.
