It is currently the middle of the afternoon during spring early in month 4 of turn 308. The temperature outside is 106 degrees Farenheit. A few clouds roam the sky.
C'den and Charissa's Weyr(#514RAL)
A large cot situated near the center of the weyr has replaced the small broken one that had once been there, with pillows of all shapes, sizes and colors strewn about it. At the foot of the cot is a large woven basket where two sleeping felines can often be found. A woven tapestry of a green and brown dragon the length of the entire wall hangs above the cot, probably the only thing in the weyr that isn't too horribly gaudy or tacky. Several holes in the walls provide perfect perches for firelizards.

You open a door and walk into the inner weyr.
Charissa is settled on the couch, playing with her tuxedo colored kitten. He's actually playing this time, as the toy she's gotten rolls over the couch, the kitten actually taking the time to pounce after it.
C'den comes staggering in with an armfull of straps which he promptly drops on the floor. He doesn't look like he's in a good mood, but then he spots Charissa and waves merrily. "Hello!"
Charissa peers, stopping in her play to see the straps, a smile coming to her lips as she waves back. "Hello there yourself.... hey, what's with the long face?"
C'den scowls a little as he looks toward the ledge at a certain green dragon. "/Somebody/ ruined her brand new straps.. I decided I'd just mend one of these old pairs Syv gave me..." Now all he has to do is find the one that needs the least work. Siiiigh.
Charissa winces, looking to the ledge as well, as she wonders, "What'd she do to them?" Should she really ask? "And lucky you.... certainly beats making another full pair of straps."
C'den shrugs as he plops down on the couch beside Charissa, slouching down in his seat. "I guess so... She decided she wanted to go swimming..In the ocean..When I was still strapped in." And it's /hard/ to get unstrapped when you're underwater.
Charissa nods to that, musing, "Oryzath's done that too... but with new straps...." She'd kill him. Or attempt to, only getting knocked over in the process. "Well, if you need a hand, I can always help out, you know."
C'den shakes his head as he he reaches down and grabs a few pairs, examining them to see just how much work he'll have to do. "Nah.. I've got to learn sometime, right?" He asks, grinning.
Charissa nods, looking over C'den's shoulder, chin coming to rest there. "True... I know I poked my hands enough when learning." Leatherworking isn't her thing. Something like soft hands tend to get in the way.
Poor Cal's hands are nice and soft, at the moment, though they probably won't be for long. The most work he ever did was running or hiding to get /out/ of doing work. "There was always someone around to do them for me or at least help before, but now I want to at least try.."
Charissa nods to that, as she settles close, hugging C'den from behind. "Okay. Still, if you need help, I'm right here." A mewl, catches her attention, as the kitten seems to have placed the toy in his mouth. Swing, swing, swing!
C'den shakes his head again as he starts to work. "No, no help. I need to do this myself. /Ow/!" He exclaims as he pokes one of his fingers almost immediately. He mutters some not-so-nice things under his breath as he shoves the straps away, scowling. Hopefully Charissa's offer is still good...
It is, as always. She winces, hands held out. "Come on.... let me see that finger." Kiss the boo-boo away. That's Charissa's job.
C'den pouts, looking more like an injured five-turn-old than the macho man he is. He stops grumbling and holds out his poor injured finger.
Charissa takes the hand, cleaning the finger gently, before wrapping it up in a bandage. A kiss is added... there. Boo-boo's allll fixed.
C'den smiles a little.. It's better than pouting, anyway. "What would I ever do without you?"
Charissa smiles, before mentioning, "You'd never have any boo-boos fixed." Aiie, she actually uses that word, too. Scary.
C'den nods. "And that would be baaad.." Yup, he gets a /lot/ of boo-boos.
Charissa chuckles, leaning against C'den for a moment, before she lets out a woosh of air. "Very bad."
C'den grins and opens his mouth to say something but spies the straps over Charissa's shoulder and heaves a sigh. "I've got to get these done.. We won't be able to fly until I do..." After all, he can't keep going strapless like he has been the past few hours.. Bad boy.
He'd better not tell Chari he's been going along with no straps. She might... squeak, or something like that. That'd be a bad thing. Head tilts, slightly, as she nods. "That's true.... just let me know if you need a hand."
Ilexth> Ilexth does a pose for Oryzath. Isn't she lovely without straps?
Ilexth> Oryzath agrees, rumbling softly, as his head bobbles up and down.
He'd tell her as long as she didn't beat on him like she /should/. "What I need is a new finger.. Owwww." C'den sighs as he pokes his finger.. /again/. The same finger. At least the bandage kept it from being too serious an injury...
Charissa just winces, before she touches his shoulder. "Hang on a moment.... " She walks away, rumaging in her clothespress before she comes out with a strap of leather. "Wrap this around your hand," she instructs. No more boo-boos.
C'den does as told - for once - wrapping it around his hand. He pokes at the strap with his finger and hmms thoughtfully.
Ilexth> Ilexth gives a delighted croon as she plops down the ledge, looking out at the mountains with whirling blue eyes. << I haven't been flying without straps for awhile.. It was nice. >> She gives a sudden surprisingly angry rumble. << My lifemate should /not/ have come along, though.. I won't let him do that again. >>
Ilexth> Oryzath blinks all three lids, musing, << He came with you? It is a good thing that he is safe then, >> comes the base rumble, as he settles next to the green, looking to the mountain beyond.
Ilexth> Ilexth snorts. << He promised four baths a day and oiling after each for making me worry. >> /And/ for making her feel guilty. She's an /accomplice/!
Ilexth> oiling/s/, even.
Charissa pauses, eyes going vacant for a long moment. "Cal! What were you thinking? Riding without straps!" Eeep. Someone told.
Ilexth> Oryzath adds, << And you should make him give you each and every one. >> A soft rumble, as he mentions, << I have passed the information onto my rider. She will take care of it. >>
Ilexth> Ilexth's whirling eyes travel to Oryzath, and she gives an amused rumble. She'd give him a highfive if she could get her forepaws to work that way. << Well, I hope she has time to oil me, too.. He won't be able to after she's done with him... >>
C'den blinks at Charissa, doing a fairly good job at looking innocent. "What are you talking about?"
Charissa mulls, repeating, "Oryzath just informed me that you rode on Ilexth without straps." With how high they live up? "Are you crazy?"
Ilexth> Oryzath nuzzles, as he gives a bass deep rumble. << She won't hurt him too much. At least too much. His ears may be red, but... >> Meanie.
"What?" C'den gasps, looking not only innocent but shocked as well. "Me? Ride without straps? You must be joking." Yeah.. Cal do something stupid? Surely not.
Charissa nods to that arms folding over her chest. Uh oh. Someone looks mad.... "So...Ilexth must also be joking about you promising her loads of baths and oilings too, right? Cal... I can't believe you did that."
C'den blinks some more. Now he not only appears to be innocent and shocked, but confusion has joined the fun, too! "Why not? I give her baths and oiling all the time."
Charissa uh huhs, before glaring at Cal. "Dragons don't lie, you know." She almost gives an indignant sniff. "You could've hurt yourself, or worse." There's only so many boo-boos she can fix, ya know.
Ilexth> Ilexth rumblesnickers as she nuzzles back. Her neck cranes around to peer inside the weyr. Of /course/ she doesn't lie.. Hmph.
C'den's brows furrow over his dark eyes as he frowns. "Nothing would have happened - I only flew from the bowl to up here. Jeeeeze... Don't you trust me?"
"It's not trust, but you could've died! Cal... what would I without you then?" Charissa turns away, pushing her hair angrily from her face.
C'den's frown quickly turns to a grin as he shakes his head. "I /didn't/." Die, that is..
His player isn't /that/ sadistic. ;)
Charissa looks over, lips firmly intrenced in a pout. "I know, but the possiblity was there. Just promise me you won't do it again?" Meanie.
C'den sighs. "Who cares about possibility? I knew I woldn't get hurt and I /didn't/. That's the whole point." Now, now.. He's not mean, he's just stupid.
Charissa frowns, before looking away. "You don't know just how much that worries me. I mean, you could've...." her voice trails off as she settles on their cot, frumping there.
C'den sighs again as he sits down beside her. "But I didn't." He says, voice barely more than a whisper.
Charissa's bottom lip trembles, before she settles her head on C'den's shoulder."I know... I just don't like the thought that you could've..." She quiets, wrapping her arms about his neck.
C'den puts an arm around her, patting her shoulder softly. "Are you kidding? I've lived through worse." He says, grinning.
Charissa nods, as she kisses his cheek. "Just don't do it again. I'll work on the straps myself, I mean... don't you ever scare me like that again!" Tears brim, and spill from her eyes, as she looks away.
C'den takes hold of her chin, gently turning her head back to look at him. "I promise I won't do it again.." He says as he wipes the tears away with his free hand. He leans in and presses his lips to hers.
Ilexth> Ilexth gives another amused rumble. << He lives after all.. >> She does sound pleased about that...
