My first glimpse at any Jrock member was Yoshiki. *wry grin* Visual Shock was exactly how I felt! He had on his net stockings and tons of makeup with long, long gorgeous hair. *sigh* And he was sitting in front of a piano..many strands of pearls. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Being the curious devil I am I stayed around poking my nose around the site trying to figure out how I had gotten here. A very pleasant introduction into the strange and wonderful world of Visual rock thru the "Prince of X". A bit later I found a few ra's of their music. I believe my first song by them was "crucify my love" and the second being "rose of pain (which I'm listening to right now in fact)".
Other known facts about Yoshiki: He's the main composer for X-Japan. He and Toshi are childhood friends. It's sad that they've parted ways now..but everyone must find their own way thru life I suppose. With the breakup of XJ, Yoshiki is currently managing Dir En Grey and a girl, who's name I forgot. He is also responsible for getting Glay a contract with a X's company. That was the big break they had been waiting for.
I read somewhere on one of the websites that he has a house somewhere in a rizzie neighborhood outside of Hollywood Cailfornia. Don't know if he's there at the moment. However, he did fly back for hide's funeral in May '98 so guess he spends a lot of time in Kali.
His father committed suicide when he was a kid. Damn! To have people he care about do that to him has got to hard. Just listen to the lyrics for "The Last Tears," which was written for his father, now dedicated to hide *eyes downcast*.
