The Defender helicopters were first used in the Peace of Galilee operation when they gave close aid to the ground troops by destroying terrorist targets and armored Syrian troops along their advancing routes. Their main contribution was by chance, the sudden massive attack of armored troops. These helicopters were aimed to flexibly fight against the armored troops, as opposed to the ground anti-tank weapons. One of their advantages is their small size which allows them superb ability of movement and their quiet flight is due to their five bladed rotar. Nowadays, these helicopters are also used for training at the stage of combat helicopters in the IAF flight school.
