Teal In the Morning Responses to turn 4...Who is that Drow? METHOS WARCHILD Methos unrolles a thick blanket by the fire after the end of the storytelleer's tail, and unceremoniously flops down on it. It seems the elf has exhausted his tolerance to the free-flowing ale. "A fine tail, old man, although you could have chosen a better..." Methos tries unsuccessfully to subdue a belch before continuing, "...subject, but a fine tail nevertheless." Observers can see Methos' eyes glaze over as he passes out. CALADOR MARTINEZ As the storyteller's tale comes to a close, the door opens slowly. You look around, maybe expecting Darrin's return, but instead in limps a man with batterend plate mail a strange looking pegleg. Underneath his captain's hat he is bald as all his hair seems to have grown from his chin, hanging in a heavy black beard down to his stomach. A crusty old pipe hangs precariously from his lip. ANDREW HAIL STRANGER, says Andrew, now visibly drunk. CRAELAN STORMBORNE Craelan, now much relaxed, notes the entrance of the man and nods. Then he turns to the other swordsmen in the group: " I like to make it a habit of practicing swordplay before dawn, perhaps one of you would like to spar with me? Get the blood moving." At that he drinks the last of his ale and calmly waits for a response. CLAVEL BLUEHEART As soon as the door closes after Darrin, Sir Blueheart stands, pushing back his chair. You see him walk over to the barkeep with the glass of wine. You see him exchange a few brief words with Kyle. METHOS WARCHILD Methos groggily sits up at the mention of swordplay, and saids in a slurred voice, "I'll practt iiisse wit youu, when I feel better in the morning." Looking around the room, his eyes fall upon Calador, and he saids, "Who's the new guy?" VALIMAR MORNINGMIST Valimar listens intently to the conversation betweeen Darrin and Tag hoping to gather more information regarding the job as caravan guard. Valimar thinks there is something 'more than meets the eye' .But maybe it's just his wild imagination playing tricks again."Good night dear sir and may the luck of Tymora be with us when we start our journey",Valimar wishes to Darrin as Darrin leaves' the taproom. Valimar lift his mug and take a mouthful of Tabek's Red(DM:How's the taste?) while he listen intently to the story teller tale's taking note of any useful information."Well done my dear man.Its truly an interesting tale",Valimar said to the story teller as he conclude his tale. "Well met stranger, what brings you here so late in the night?", Valimar asked the stranger as he entered.Valimar scrutinised the stranger trying to figure out this stranger's story. (DM)Calador doesn't say much. He hobbles over to the bar and sips ale. After awhile, he takes his rest. Turn #5 Good Morning Teal Squadon The next morning you awaken to a bountiful breakfast. Kyle is wide awake and whistling a cheery tune as he takes care of all your needs. Some of you are thinking it is too cheery of a tune for this time of morning, but I'm sure it has nothing to do with the amount of ale and other beverages that were consumed the night before. As noon approaches you begin to wander outside. Horses are saddled and tied up at a hitching post in front of the inn, and the carriage is drawn up and ready to go as well. Hearing a groan, you look across the way to see Darrin and a huge bulk of a man in a leather apron hefting a barrel into the back of a wagon. Then together they lay a tarp across the back and tie it down. Even from here, you note that Darrin's face is a might bit pale. Behind you the door to the inn opens and you see Darrin's cousin, blond haired and brightly blue-eyed on this fine morning. She stands on the porch in riding leathers, smiling prettily at each of you and bids you a fine and wonderful morning. Her voice is like a trickling waterfall as it alights upon your ears. You hear the crunch of gravel behind you, and Darrin's voice calls out, "You look well rested, cousin." She replies with a grin, "And you look ragged, Darrin. Up all night were you. And don't tell me you were out here guarding the wagon." Darrin places a hand to his temple, saying, "I wouldn't try to sneak a lie by you, Zep. But we are ready to go, eh lads? We need two drivers and grab a horse if you like," he says as he gingerly pulls himself up onto the back of a sharp lined black charger. Zeptha chooses a horse and before anyone can help her, is up in the saddle and urging the horse towards the bridge leading north. You can see she is an experienced rider and she sets a pace that most of you consider too fast for how you feel. One look at Darrin's face is enough to tell, that that is certainly his exact feelings." Teal responses to In the Morning Clavel Sir Blueheart nods at Darrin in thanks and chooses a frightful horse. Gleaming black, nostrils flaring wildly, the tall stallion at first resists Clavel's attempts of getting into the saddle. Clavel frowns and seizes the horse's reins. Patting the horse, "No time for that Black One. We have a long ride ahead. Be still and let me climb into the saddle. We have a Lady to catch up to. Her horse is riding like the wind." Clavel adds tauntingly to the horse, "Don't suppose you could catch her anyways. That mare could out run ANY stallion." The horse snorts at this, nudges the impudent biped, and stamps the ground with one hoof impatiently, causing a cloud of dust to rise. Winking at his fellows, Clavel hoists himself into the saddle. Without any further ado, the stallion rears with a neigh and breaks into a gallop. All that is left of the two, is a great billow of dust. Methos Methos chooses a lean strider, a grey mare with a white spot upon her forehead, not a charger fit for battle, but one who appears raised for endurance, which is what this trip appears headed for. Not wasting time in soothing the well-trained horse, Methos vaults upon the saddle, ready to leave with Darrin and the supply wagon. Calador I do have a horse and i will equip my self with my sword and ride after the wagon and the group of people. I smoke me pipe and roll out my colors of the church. It's a sash i wear across my chest. RIDE HORSE RIDE. Methos Methos spurs his horse forward at a gallop. "I'll be riding ahead to check for ambushes!" he yells back to the others. As he rides ahead of the Zeptha and Clavel, he will also inform them of his intentions. Craelan Craelan swings atop a chestnut gelding, seating himself comfortably. To Darrin he says: " perhaps one of us should ride behind aways to watch for overly inquisitive followers? " At which he waits for a response. Almar Zir Almar unties and boards the nearest horse, checks that his sword and bow are ready, and moves to the rear of the wagon. "May we all arrive safely at the City of Splendors", he says as he brings the horse under his control. Valimar Valimar greets Zeptha"Good day milady, you look radiant today.Sune must be fuming mad today"."Good day to you also Darrin,"Valimar said. "Darrin i'm willing to be the driver as you see i'm not that good with horses,"Valimar offer his help."Look's like Tymora is indeed smiling on us today"as Valimar looks at the clear sky. Before they set off Valimar wish Kyle goodbye. Andrew(DM) Andrew is asked by Darrin to drive the carriage, who readily complies. Teal on the Road, Day one. As he crosses over the bridge, Darrin looks wistfully back at the small keep of Daggerford and mutters softly, "Bye, Tabek. May your glass never empty old man. And when I return, I'll drink another toast to your continued good health." Zeptha slows up when Clavel and Methos catch up to her. Happily she replies to some questions. No, she has never been this far north. Darrin was the lucky one, always getting to travel. She had to stay home like a good little girl. But so far the road has been in excellent condition. It is a widely travelled road, and thus kept up. As for riding well, Darrin was always nice enough to go riding with her around Baldur's Gate whenever he was at home. Alas, she knows nothing of their cargo, and is sure that the caravan is only split because of the wagon's wheel getting repaired. Darrin has told her that from Daggerford, Waterdeep is only 150 miles away. They should be there in five more days, she informs them, if Darrin keeps up the pace they have been on for the last three weeks. True to Zeptha's word, the road is in good repair, paved and the miles are well marked as you travel north. There is not much to the scenery. Flat land abounds on either side of the road. There is not much cover for an ambush, and as much as some of you are intent on watching for danger, the only thing that looks threatening is Zeptha's beauty. You make good time and make it to a nice campsite at the side of the road as dusk begins to close in for the night. By the markers you have travelled ten miles since Daggerford.
