On the day of the marriage, the following conversation
goes on between the bride, the groom, and the cleric:
(The Priest addresses the groom.)
Priest: p, v. puqloD, yIjang. be'vamvaD Qapbej'a' tIqlIj?
Groom: HIja'.
Priest: be' retlhDaq bIQam 'ej Hoch qaDwI'pu' DaSuv 'e' Dalay''a'?
Groom: vIlay'bej.
(He addresses the bride)
Priest: p, v. puqbe', yIjang. loDvamvaD Qapbej'a' tIqlIj?
Bride: HIja'.
Priest: loD retlhDaq bIQam 'ej Hoch qaDwI'pu' DaSuv 'e' Dalay''a'?
Bride: vIlay'bej.
Priest: vaj peqIm Hoch.
tayvammo' Sawta' loDvam 'ej nayta' be'vam
'ej tay'taH tIqDu'chaj 'e' yIyaj Hoch bejwI'.
Then the priest joins the hands of the bride and the groom. The couple says this:
Groom: doq jIH
Bride: doq maj
The priest consecrates a cup of wine, saying: "Lord Fek'lhr, bless this symbol of the unity of the couple, that they who share it shall forever be together and live happily in thy name." The bride and groom share the wine. After this, the nuptial agreement is signed and the ceremony is over.
