James Cameron's TITANIC has got to be one of the best films I've watched in a long time. The romance between Jack and Rose was beautiful and the tragedy of the TITANIC sinking was really heart-breaking. Many people have flocked back to the cinemas to watch the movie again and oftentimes, sobs could be heard from the audience---that's how powerful the movie is; it really gets to you emotionally.

In my opinion, the best part of the movie began when the TITANIC hit the iceberg. Those subsequent scenes really illustrated the frenzy the people were in, the fear and desperation felt by those on board, the selfishness of some of the crew and first-class  passengers and also the gallantry of the gentlemen who would rather go down with the ship. It was heart-wrenching watching the mother singing her children to sleep, the old couple lying in bed as the water swirled around them, and the passengers and crew resigning themselves to death.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet have also put in convincing and stunning performances as Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater respectively. Through them, one could feel how stifling it is to be trapped by the class divisions so prevalent in those days, the vitality of youth, the passion and the intensity of first love. Also appearing in the movie are Kathy Bates, Gloria Stuart, Billy Zane, Bill Paxton and a host of other actors and actresses. Like DiCaprio and Winslet, they too have put in wonderful performances.

Watching TITANIC was a most marvellous experience. Till now, scenes from the movie still flash across my mind whenever I listen to the soundtrack composed by James Horner or Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On".
