Weyland's Smithy

Weyland's Smithy, so-called because the Anglo-Saxon inhabitants of England attributed it to their god of the forge, is actually a pre-celtic burial site that was probably built around 3,300 B.C. It lies just off the road between Ashbury and Uffington, and we were pleasantly surprised to stumble across it. Standing before the monument is the illustrious Tom Elliott, with his Moose River lid. This picture scanned a bit dark, so I used Photosuite to restore the original look.
