CLIMB THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN, SWIM THE DEEPEST
SEA
By Long Henson
"Ano na namang pakulo yan !", my mother exclaimed. After climbing mountains,
nagyon naman scuba diving !
Actually it all started after the persistent invitation of my former boss
who have long dreamt of diving the deepest seas. He told me it was his
lifetime dream. I agreed for the sake of fun and experience. I didnt meant
it to be another hobby but more of skill improvement, water confidence
building and adventurous experience...magagamit ko rin siya sa
mountaineering. Afterall, I know I am more of an "earth guy" than a "water
boy". I prefer going inlands, up in the mountains away from the waters-
pero naliligo ako ha ! It's not just my type. I dont know, I don't belive
in horoscope pero ganun daw talaga ang Taurus the bull (hindi lahat ha).
Generally, it was a fruitful and fun experience even if I am not
comfortable in some exercises like the no mask diving, mask clearing, open regulator
breathing, and seeing strange creatures. How I hate salt water ! But more
important, I have learned and experienced a lot of things . And as I have
told my mother, "At least before I retire, I have experienced and seen lot
of things not all people will have the priviledge of having". I will really
never forget the new world I have experienced pero, mountaineering will
still be and will always be my number one.
By the way, it's true that scuba diving is expensive pero if you will be
"top of the line" mountaineer, I think it would also cost the same or even
more.
Back to business....I suggest you should also try scuba kahit minsan lang...
I know Tita Rosan will be always open to help those who would like to
experience it.
