{Nikolas, Laura and LuLu are sitting on the couch at Wyndemere, going through a picture album}

Nikolas:  "All right. All right, ready?"

Laura:  "Mm-hmm. {He flips several  pages} Oh, come on, start on the first page, please?"

Nikolas:  "All right."

Laura:  "Oh, my goodness. How old are you there?"

Nikolas:  "There, I’m about, oh, about 11. Yeah, 11."

Laura:  "What were you doing?"

Nikolas:  "You know, there's about a million of these in here. We can't look at every one of them."

Laura:  "Well, we can start, can't we? So what were you doing?"

Nikolas:  "Uncle was teaching me how to dive."

Laura:  "From there?"

Nikolas:  "Well, he wanted me to learn how to--how to test my eye, my courage, and my strength, I think it was."

Laura: {Worried} "Oh, my God. Were you ever hurt?"

Nikolas: {Looking at her and smiling} "You're such a mother."

Laura:  "That one I know is not you." {She laughs}

Nikolas:  "No."

Laura:  "Stefan used to like to dive, too, I remember."

Nikolas:  "Mm-hmm."

Laura:  "Mm-hmm. Wow, that's a great picture."

Nikolas:  "Thank you."

Laura:  "You?"

Nikolas:  "Mm-hmm."

Laura:  "Oh, I’m impressed. {Pausing, looking at a picture} I remember that place."

Nikolas:  "The wild garden."

Laura:  "Just down from the cliffs, right? It's all protected."

Nikolas:  "Protected and ignored."

Stefan: {Entering the house} "Nikolas? Hello."

Nikolas:  "Hey."

Stefan:  "Hello, Lesley Lu. The launch pilot told me you were here."

Nikolas:  "Laura said that she would bring her back, and she did, so--"

Stefan:  "So I see."

Laura:  "And I think we should probably be going now. So, how about if we pack up our crayons and we catch a boat?"

Stefan:  "No, I’m afraid I sent the captain on an assignment."

Nikolas:  "You should stay for dinner. We insist, right?"

Stefan:  "Yes. Yes, unless you have other plans."

Laura:  "Well, no, we don't."

Stefan:  "Well, then it's settled. I'll alert Mrs. Lansbury."

Nikolas:  "No, no, no, I already did. I already did. We were just looking at photographs--"

Laura:  "At pictures of--" {The both stop and laugh}

Nikolas:  "Yeah."

Laura:  "Oh, my goodness. Lulu, look how silly your brother was."

Nikolas:  "Now, you said you wouldn't laugh. That goes for you, too."

Laura:  "We're not laughing, are we? But it is silly." {Stefan watches the 'family' scene}

Nikolas: {Standing in the hallway, holding LuLu} "Mrs. Lansbury!"

Stefan:  "Nikolas, do not shout." {Nikolas goes to find Mrs. Lansbury}

Laura: {Leaning forward, quietly} "Did Katherine let on that she and Helena knew anything?"

Stefan:  "About Nikolas?"

Laura:  "Mm-hmm."

Stefan:  "She did say that she was moving forward, armed with the truth--a weapon she picked up on the parapet that night."

Nikolas: {Coming back into the room} "Ok, we got the right tape. And someone is making a surprise dinner for you. Mrs. Lansbury, yes. {Pointing to Stefan} Look at that. Uncle Stefan almost smiled."

Stefan:  "I beg your pardon?"

Nikolas:  "Here you go." {Putting LuLu down}

Stefan:  "It pleases me to see you happy."

Nikolas:  "Yeah, well, I am."

Stefan:  "Nikolas, I need to warn you about Katherine. I have spoken to her again, and she is still not open to me. She continues to be unduly swayed by Helena. I want you to keep that in mind when you see her."

Nikolas: {Looking down} "I will. Lulu, pick out a crayon. I want you to put a date on my portrait, ok?"

Laura:  "She can sign her name, too."

Nikolas:  "Yeah."

Laura:  "Mm-hmm."

Nikolas:  "All right." {Stefan watches, a little worried}
