(Due to the interruption, this is what I have of their conversation)
{Nikolas and Stefan are talking at Wyndemere}
Nikolas: "I resented her for so long and blamed her for so much. It didn't even occur to me until the trial that I know next to nothing about Laura and my father. I mean, if you take away the lies that Helena told me, intended obviously to keep me from being curious about my mother, the only thing I have left is the thing that you and Laura both told me--that I was conceived in love."
Stefan:
{Looking stunned} "Laura said so? {Nikolas nods} Oh. It's not something
I imagine she would want her family to hear, but true nonetheless." {He
takes a drink of water, still reeling}
Nikolas:
"Then however my father treated everyone else, it doesn't matter. I mean,
he cared for her, right?"
Stefan:
{With a far off look} "From the moment he laid eyes on her. Your father
didn't meet her until one night in the garden. It was one of those blue
Aegean nights. Out of the tree she appeared, hair flying, frightened, brave,
and running. She ran into your father's arms. His heart stopped. And in
that moment, it seemed that without knowing it, he'd been waiting for her
all his life."
Nikolas:
"You know this from my father?"
Stefan: "Yes."
Nikolas: "I'm glad he told you. I'm glad you remembered. Thank you."
