everyone else just ask me first. I'll almost always say yes.
Rating- PG-13
Classification- Group, Cordelia, Buffy, hints of Buffy/Angel, Xander/Cordelia, Cordelia/Doyle,
fun, fluff, future fic.
Spoiler- The Harsh Light of Day and In The Dark and back.
Buffy walked into her apartment and wasn’t surprised to find the whole gang there.
“What do you think? She asked, wrapping her arms around Angel’s neck.
“It was great. You and Cordy were awesome.” Xander said, earning a kiss from his
fiancee.
“Thanks.” She beamed.
“Yeah.” Buffy said happily.
They all looked down at the copies of Seventeen in their hands.
A Bright Light
By Clarissa Morris
Everyone knows who Buffy Summers, 24, is nowadays, and Cordelia Chase, also 24, is
always on people’s mind. Now the acclaimed TV star and the popular actress have teamed
up for a new movie, In the Dark of Night.
But it wasn’t the first meeting for the two. The girls are former classmates as well as close friends. They used their real-life friendship to bring credibility to their roles as best friends in their new picture.
Summers plays Julie Williams, a young reporter who has been assigned the task of covering the trail of a serial killer. Chase is Claire Benning, the killer’s next target. Together the two girls must find find a way to stop him and get away with their lives.
The movie promises to be a big hit, but the stars are anything but blinded by their success. Summers is an L.A native who loves physical activity and spends her weekends in the quiet town of Sunnydale where she spent most of her high school and college years.
Chase was born in Sunnydale and now lives in L.A, like Summers she goes home on a regular basis. She also still occasionally does secretarial duty for the detective agencies that she worked for her in her pre-stardom days.
The two recently sat down with SEVENTEEN two chat about love, high school,
and their Pre-Hollywood days.
Seventeen: Were you two always friends?
Chase: Not at all. I thought she was a freak when I first met her.
Summers: And I thought she was a total moron.
Seventeen: What changed?
Summers: A lot. It took time, but I began to see the real Cordelia. She has a tough
side that very few see.
Chase: And Buffy is a lot cooler than I thought she was.
Seventeen: Have you ever competed for boyfriends?
Summers: Oh, yeah. But I always win.
Chase: Unfortunately true.
Seventeen: What about now? Is either of you involved in a serious relationship?
Chase: I’m getting married in a few months. His name is Xander and we’ve dated on
and off since high school.
Summers: I am in a serious relationship. Like Cordelia and Xander we’ve been together
on and off since I was in high school.
Seventeen: Any wedding plans?
Summers: We’re actually already married.
Seventeen: This is a shocker. How long?
Summers: A while. We had a small quiet wedding, and we plan to have a large ceremony
some day in the near future.
Seventeen: Has either of you ever had a broken heart?
Chase: Oh, yeah. Xander and I had a bumpy road to the alter. We split in high school
after a nasty breakup which left me with a broken heart. Later, I met a guy name
Doyle. He died though.
Seventeen: I’m sorry, didn’t mean to bring up bad memories. Buffy?
Summers: Definitely. Angel and I made Cordy and Xand look stable, also I dated my
share of creeps.
Seventeen: Who was your first love?
Chase: A boy named Kevin. He died too. Sunnydale has a high mortality rate.
Summers: Understatement. Mine was Angel. I know it sounds funny, but I’ve only had
one love. We met when I was 16 and I fell head over feet. We had a lot of problems,
but he’s the only one I’ll ever love.
Seventeen: What about your new movie? How are you similar to your character?
Summers: Julie would do anything for her friend’s, I’m a lot like that. She also
has a hidden strength which I share.
Chase: Funny. Claire hides behind an image, I used to do that. Other than that we
aren’t that similar.
Seventeen: You two went to high school together what was that like?
Summers: Interesting. Sunnydale High was definitely a learning experience.
Chase: You can say that again. It had it’s share of demons. All metaphorical of course.
Seventeen: What attracts you to a guy?
Chase: His sense of humour. Doyle and Xander both made me laugh a lot. I like that.
Summers: His eyes. Angel has the best eyes I’ve ever seen. Very intense.
Seventeen: Before you guys made it big what did you do for money?
Chase: I worked with Angel at his agency. It was definitely intense. That’s how I
met Doyle, he worked there too.
Summers: I had various jobs.
Seventeen: You two have been friends a long time. How do you stay so close?
Summers: We’ve learned never to expect more than the other can give. We also accept
the other’s faults and see them for who they are.
Chase: The fact that we’ve been through a lot together and earned each other’s respect
helps too.
Seventeen: Did you guys ever get in trouble as kids?
Summers: Oh, yeah. I had a rough period in which I managed to get expelled from two
high schools and get a permanent record. I straightened out though with the help
of some good friends.
Chase: Not really. Although I did do a few illegal things in my day. Never got caught
though.
Seventeen: Any parting words of wisdom?
Chase: Never hide your feelings, it’ll just hurt you more in the long run. Be truthful
and things will turn out right.
Summers: Love really is the strongest power of all. If you have faith in the person
your with you can over come anything. But don’t do anything you aren’t ready for.
Sometimes you think you’re ready and you make the biggest mistakes. Be careful. Also,
think carefully before you do something, but if you do make a mistake it’s okay.
Everybody makes them.*
“It’s really good.” Xander said, giving both girls thumbs up.
Cordelia kissed his cheek. “Thank you.” She said softly.
He kissed her passionately as an answer.
The others watched with amused grins and then went back to their own sweetheart.
they were happy and the article had been a success. Which was nice.
