· The character's Faye and Carol Thornton were created by Katarine and Elizabeth Hardwick. Sonia and Steve were thought up by Richard Peacock.
· Richard Peacock was originally going to play the character Roger Pearson, this eventually went to Alan Eltham.
· The village of Roddington, where 'Living Together' is set, was orginally based around Luton, hence in the news bulletin that Carol and Wendy watch mentions 'Roddington International Airport'. Towards the end of the first series, Roddington moved twenty miles north and became a region within Milton Keynes.
· Steve Thornton was going to be the drug dealer Steve that Brain Kennedy was involved with. This idea was eventually droped, but the first name stayed.

· The name of the estate was changed from 'Burrell Close' as seen in the Channel 4 documentary, to 'Burrell Crescent' because it was thought that 'Close' was associated with 'Brookside'.
· Anita's baby changes sex between series one and two. This was due to the problem that no children in the area were female of the write age, but Jonethan Foster was.
· The character of Sandy Kendrick was brought into the script of the second series at a very late stage. In fact filming had begun with the whole script not mentioning her. Sandy was put in to help the story with Anita and Ian and gave Carol a should to cry on.
Considered, But Never Used Story Lines
· Towards the second half of the first series, Alex Freeman (then still in an unknown job) was going to join Kingfisher Air (the same airline that Ian Holmstead worked for) as a Captin. Putting her in a higher level as Ian's 1st Officer. It is unknonw why this storyline didn't take place.
· In a rejected episode from the second series, Alex and Ian were due to be caught up in a gas explosion.
· Alex Freeman almost became manager of a chemical company in Milton Keynes which had an industrial accident and poisended half the cast. She became the manager of the local garage instead.
· In a rejected third series storyline, Pauline Dolton was to play a Sunday School teacher and Richard Hardwick, an atheist would have had many conversations.
· Carol Thornton and Sandy Kendrick were to open some stables in the third series. Filming on location would have been praticle.
· In a great storm like the one in October 1987, Anita Kendrick was going to be killed off and the truth about Joe's real father would have come to light at her funeral.
· Tyler Summerfield was going to meet with a rather unfortunate accident in the cancelled series three. The local ambulance force were approached for appearing in the scene.
· Cranfield Players stars Tony Grey and Fiona Griffiths were to appear in the axed third series as two police detectives DC Robert Moody and DS Dawn Kelly.
· The third series was also going to have another wedding. This time between Michale Sylvesters brother Chris and Wendy Holmstead. This was to cause more problems between Michael and Ian after her death. Members of the public were wasked to attend if it was to take place.
· A 1997 Christmas special was proposed with a party at the Holmstead. Nimmy Euston was originally to be murdered on her way there just behind the Holmsteads House.
· The first episode of series three was to be based around the setting up of the village fate and the day that follows. It would have explained what had happened to Alex after she had stabbed Phil and would have introduced the Holmsteads parents Frank and Jan played by Mu and Ken Chambers.
Things You Probably Didn't Know About the Names
· Nimmy's first name is really Amanda. She's Nimmy because at school she used to chase all the boys and was given the nickname Nymphomaniac which was shortend to what it is today.
· The surname of Joe Newnham was thought up by actor Martin Rust. It comes from the road name Newnham Avenue in Bedford.
· James Fuller came up with Simon's surname Relluf (Fuller spelt backwards).
· The Holmsteads name comes from a character Jonathen Holmstead, a detective created by Richard Peacock.
· The character Roger Pearson is a direct take from ex-CYFA leader Andrew Pearson.
· Katharine and Liz Hardwick got the surname Thornton from the same shop that makes chocolate.
· The surname of Tyler Summerfield comes from Richard Peacock's old school teacher Grace Summerfield.
· The name Kendrick for Anita and Sandy was throught up by Katharine Hardwick, she got it from the Christian songwriter Graham Kendrick.
· Nimmy's surname is taken from the same name as the railway station, Euston.
· Sandy Kendrick got her first name from Richard's auntie Sandy Peacock.
· The name of the estate that 'Living Together' is set is based on Richard's grandparents surname, Burrell.
· Brain Kennedy is resting at Roddington's Church of England St. Peter's burial ground.
· Joanne Parsons is living with her dad Roger Pearson down in Truro. She is working as a playgroup leader.
· Roger Pearson is living with daughter Joanne in Truro. He owns some property there which he rents out. He met Jenny Cooper, a visitor during the solar eclipse, and they are now seeing each other.

· DCI Roberts is still working for Themes Valley Police.
· Harvey Marvey is working in a bar along the south coast of Spain.
