Murder So Divine-5*

by Deb

*caution speedo alert, but the debate continues.

When Jax woke up he saw Brenda staring at him with a worried look on her face.
“What’s wrong?”
“I’m so happy, I’m just afraid that something will go wrong. And that somehow I will lose you.”
“Just be happy. Don’t go looking for problems. Problems will happen eventually and we will deal with them. And do you know how we will deal with them?”
“Yes” she replied beginning to smile “together.” She hugged him tightly and said “I love you” and then proceeded to show him how much.

Jerry slept late again and when he awoke Alexis was gone, but had left this note
Jerry
Thank you for one of the most enjoyable days I’ve
had in a long time. That memory and you will hold
a special place in my heart. Unfortunately, it is now
back to reality and the real world. Best wishes for
your speedy and complete recovery.
Alexis

Jerry dressed and went downstairs. Lady Jane informed him that her helicopter had arrived and that Alexis had left about an hour ago.
Jerry said that he was sorry that he overslept and that he would miss her.
Lady Jane surprised him when she asked “So, what are you going to do about it?”
He responded cautiously “Is it that obvious?”
“Yes Luv, this is not actually something you are used to experiencing let alone trying to conceal.”
Jerry smiled and said “Well, I do have to check on that ELQ stock that Jax sold me and the doctor told me that I will need physical therapy. So I thought I might go look into treatment at General Hospital. I have some deals I need to wrap up and then I guess it would be a good time to go check out Port Charles.”
Lady Jane smiled and said “That sounds like a good plan of attack.”
Jerry laughed “No, that is just the opportunity I still need to think of the plan of attack.” “I’m sure that you will think of something.”

Later that morning when Jax and Brenda finally got out of bed they went exploring. Jax pointed out their small harbor below them. It was a lovely cove with a small sandy beach. Jax led the way past Illette Point to a lighthouse, from the lighthouse they followed the trail to a tiny cove called “Faux-Argen” There were a few other people there when they arrived and spread out their blankets. Jax started to peel off his clothes to go for a swim. As always, Brenda enjoyed watching him undress. She got a wicked smile as he got down to his red speedo.
Jax saw that grin and said “I’d better get into the water before we shock even the French.”
“Coward.” she shouted.
Jax blew her a kiss as he ran and dove into the surf. As she watched him swim Brenda fantasized about what technique would be the most effective way to remove that speedo, without using her hands. She truly shocked and delighted him the next morning when, on their own private beach, she tried several of those techniques to find the most exciting method of removal. Jax never made it to the water for his swim that day, but had no complaints.

On her first day back to Port Charles Alexis received flowers with a card reading:
Thinking of you.
Jerry - 14.
The next day more flowers with the same note with the number 13. Each day for two weeks she received flowers with the same note with a lower number. She had received so many flowers that she had nowhere to put them and started distributing them throughout the hospital. On the fifteenth day she did not receive a delivery. Alexis was at General Hospital and was reviewing documents in the office that Stefan had supplied for her use. Her door opened and in came more flowers, these being delivered by Jerry himself.
He smiled and said “I wanted to make sure that you didn’t forget about me before I could get here.”
“Oh” she replied “I just thought that 14 days was the extent of your span of interest.” “Alexis, you wound me. Actually before you, my attention span had never extended beyond a week.”
“I’m not sure if I should be honored or frightened by that.”
“Both, definitely both.” He handed her the card with the flowers it read:
Dinner?
She laughed and said “I have a hospital board meeting tonight. Will you still be in town tomorrow?”
“Yes” he replied “You’re not going to be able to get rid of me that quickly. I have some business in town and I’m set up for physical therapy here at General Hospital. Jax and Brenda recommended the Port Charles Hotel so I’ve booked a Penthouse there.”
Alexis stated “I’ll meet you at the hotel restaurant at 7 tomorrow.” As he left Alexis was not sure how she felt about his possible continuing presence in her life.
