FUTURE CONSEQUENCES Part 7

Everybody at the memorial stared down at this woman holding Jax. She was beautiful. Slightly shorter than Jax with a slim and graceful body that a dark navy suit enclosed. Her dark black hair cascaded past her shoulders and the emotion in her dark, almond shaped eyes was evident.
Jax and Lisa broke their hug.
"What, . . .How did you get here? How did you know?"
Lisa smiled looking up at Jerry. "When I didn't get your weekly letter, I knew something was wrong. So I checked my message centers and they had a note from Jerry in every location. I finally decided to respond to one, that's all."
Jerry shook his head. "So you *do* get the messages."
"Ofcourse Big Brother! I just ignore most of them" she smirked slightly. She looked back down at Jax, "It didn't take a genius to figure out that the wife of Jasper Jacks was gone. It was on the news everywhere."
"Good old Lisa" Jax said quietly. "Always the blunt one"
Lisa looked around the room, to be greeted by several pairs of eyes staring at her. "Ahem" she cleared her throat. "Sorry. I. . .just had to get Jax."
Her smile dissapeared, as she turned around quickly to face Jax. He nodded his head at her, knowing what she was asking. Lisa gave John and Jane's hands a gentle squeeze. "I'll talk later. I promise."
She took Jax's hand and led him out of the church.
At the sound of the door shutting, a buzz went over the room in wonderment.
Lois grabbed Jerry, "*WHO* was that?"
Jerry shook his head, "*that* is Lisa, our little sister, and probably the only person who has a chance to get through to him right now."
"Get through to him about what? she just dragged him out of his wifes memorial service!"
Jerry shrugged. "It's a long story. Let's just say that they have a. .connection."
"A connection?" Lois asked
"ahem, Ms. Cerullo" the pastor spoke up.
"Yes?"
"Would you like to finish the memorial now?"
Lois banged a hand against her face, looking up to the ceiling. "Oh Bren.." she murmmered, "I'm sorry"
She turned to the pastor, "yes father, we'll finish it now." She sighed, plopping down exasperated on her seat.
Jerry gave Lois a reassuring hug. "Lois, don't be sorry. I know I never met Brenda, but I'm sure she knows that all the people here miss her, and love her. She'd be happy with the turn-out."
Lois gave him a sheepish smile, "well, I hope so. Thanks." Tears began to form in her eyes again, as she once again realized that her best friend wasn't coming back.
The service finished with no interuptions, just alot of tears, and emotion.
Port-Charles Park. . .
It had been half and hour since Jax and Lisa had sat down on the park bench. He was still staring into space, his elbows on his knees. Lisa looked at him curiously. . ."Jax, are you going to tell me what's going on?"
Jax finally seemed to shake himself from his trance-like state and looked over at her. "You know me too well you know that?"
"aah, well, old habits die hard. So what's the real story?"
"nothing interesting."
"Oh come on Jax, there was a time when you knew that *everything* about you was interesting."
He didn't respond, just giving her hi patented *Jax* smile, as he smoothly changed the subject. "So where have You been? The last time I've actually seen you face to face was after Miranda's so-called death."
"Hey!" Lisa protested, "we kept in touch. I look forward to your letters every week."
"Yeah, *okay*" Jax responded disbelievingly.
"I do! And, if your really interested, I've just been doing the same 'ol, same 'ol. You know, running J&J Asia headquarters, popping over to Europe for some runway shows, having the odd brunch with the gals."
"Oh yeah? So do you know the *real* story behind Cindy and Val?" he asked jokingly
She smirked, "oh yes, I'm sure you want to know."
"Hey! I read the Enquier every once in a while."
They smiled at each other.
"I've missed you." Lisa stated
"I've missed you too." Jax replied. "It just isn't as fun when you're little sister is on the other side of the world. You can't annoy her."
"Oh, that time you and Jerry sent a man claiming that he was shutting J&J Jacks down *still* has me reeling." She laughed. "How did you do guys accomplish that anyways?"
"Oh you know us Jacks men. We never reveal our secrets."
"Oh! Yeah sure." Lisa gave him a beautiful sarcastic smile. "Well talk soon Jax."
"What?" Jax responded, "are you going somewhere?"
"No." She replied back softly, looking intently at him. He was hiding his grief, but she could see it. It was blinding. "You know what about Jax."
Jax took a deep breath, giving her a sheepish smile. "Thanks for not pushing Lise. I. . . I just need some time to figure things out, and to say good-bye to Brenda on my own."
"I know, it's hard." Lisa responded understandingly, her eyes wanderig off a miilion miles away. Jax now looked at her intently. Her eyes had a sudden despondency to them, as if she were thinking back to a personal experience.
"Something on your mind?" Jax asked, snapping Lisa out of her thoughts
"huh? Oh! No. Just thinking, thats all."
"Well, I guess the day we talk will be a time for revelations on both our parts then." Jax responded staring intently at her still.
Lisa gave him a small smile in return, "I guess so." She replied.

Sonny sat on the couch of his penthouse, all the lights off. He picked up the photograph of Lily that was sitting on the table before him, smiling at the picture of his late wife and friend.
"Well, I've done it now huh?" he spoke to the photograph.
"Done what?" a voice interjected.
Sonny snapped his head over to the sound of the voice. Jason. "What are you doing here?" he asked irritated. "I told you, Robin needs you with her."
"Well she thinks you need me more." Jason responded. "She right too. Robin has Lois, and Mac, and everyone else that was at Brenda's funeral. Who do you have?"
Sonny glared at Jason for a moment. "Well. . . atleast *Mike* isn't here" Sonny finally responded, motioning Jason in.
"Did I hear my name called out?" a voice in the hall spoke out.
Sonny rolled his eyes, with disgust. "You know, *just* when you think your day can't get any worse. ."
Mike smiled broadly at Sonny. "Aww, son, I feel touched."
"Mike, what are you doing here?" Sonny asked exasperated with the unwanted attention he was recieving.
"Sonny, you need to eat, so who better to . ."
"cook for me?" Sonny interupted. "Mike, if I want to eat, I'll pick up that thing over there called a telephone, and *order* something. Its not that hard."
Mike just smiled. "Give me an hour you two, and I'll have a feast ready" as Mike headed towards the kitchen.
Not wanting to bother arguing, Sonny just gave Mike a bored look as he walked away from him and Jason.
Shaking his head, Sonny walked over to the liquor table, pouring himself a drink.
There was a surprise visitor at Brendas memorial today. Jason spoke up.
Sonnys eyes perked up with curiosity, besides me? Who?
Well, I dont know who it was, but she was Asian, and called Jax her brother.
Sonny looked confused. How can a Asian person be the sister of an Australian boy?
Jason just shrugged his shoulders.
Find out as much as you can about this woman, and how she is related to Jax. Sonny responded, the thoughts in his eyes whirling around.
I want to get to the bottom of this.

Miranda was staring at the words of her book, nothing going into her head. She slammed the book shut with frustration.
*Why* am I so upset over this? she thought to herself. Its just Brenda.
Oh my god! she said outloud, I cant believe I just said that! I just wished her dead. .. She got up from her couch, and began pacing quickly around the room. She glanced at her watch.
The funeral should be over by now she said to herself, I wonder how Jax is as her thoughts wandered to the man she desired more and more everyday.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
A loud bang on her door diverted Miranda away from her thoughts.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
Im coming, Im coming! Miranda muttered, GEEZ! she began as she reached for the door knob, whats the- but her utter shock cut her off. She dropped the book she was holding and let it fall to the ground, staring in disbelief at the person standing before her.
Lisa slyly smiled at a befuddled Miranda. Hello Miranda she calmly stated, taking her hand over to Mirandas chin and closing her open mouth shut. Surprised to see me?
What. . Mirandas was speechless, as her eyes filled with fear.
Lisas smile dissapeared quickly, and her dark eyes turned cold and evil. Its been a while she began, pushing her way past Miranda and into her apartment.
Nice place she smirked as her eyes caught a stack of letter tied with a red ribbon on the bookshelf. She turned around to face Miranda with utter disbelief. You stil have those damn love letters? Give it UP! He was only a teenager when he wrote them. . . Ill bet he didnt think you would hold onto them for this long! she laughed wickedly at a still shocked Miranda.
Miranda finally shook herself out of her state. . . What are you doing here Lisa? What do you want now?
Lisa glowered at Miranda. Its been a while Miranda, thats all. We just have to get a few things straight. To make sure were on the same wave length ofcourse. She said tauntingly. Lisa sat down on Mirandas couch, and patted her hand on the cushion next to her.
Come on Miranda, Lets have a little talk.
