"Jerry, what are you doing here?"

"I came to see this mystery woman who has captured your attention....and I can definitely see why!!! Hello, Jerry Jacks. It's an honor to meet such a beautiful woman" he smiled, turning on the charm. Jerry took Brenda's hand and kissed it, while Jax looked as if he would rip Jerry's head off.

"Hi Jerry, I'm Brenda Barrett" she said forcing a smile as she quickly pulled her hand away.

"Well Jerry, now that the two of you have met, you can go now" Jax stated.

"Aren't you happy to see me, little brother?" he smirked.

"Of course....but I'd be even happier if I saw you tomorrow...." Jax smiled, trying to get Jerry to take the hint.

"Ahhhh....point well taken. I'll be going now..." he smiled, grabbing his jacket.

"No, wait. You guys need to talk. Jax, I'll call you tomorrow, okay? Maybe we can have dinner at my place or something...." she grinned.

"Brenda, you don't have to go" he pleaded. "I thought we were in the middle of something..." he whispered.

"Yes....but we can finish it tomorrow, and I promise it'll be worth the wait." she whispered, running her hands through his hair.

"Well, when you put it that way....." he smiled. "I'll drop you off at your place and then come back here and have a talk with Jerry."

"Oh no you won't. I'll take a cab home. Besides, you know that if you stopped by my place you wouldn't leave tonight...." she laughed.

"Good point. But you're not gonna take a cab. Let me call and have the limo brought around."

"Jax, you don't have to do that....really, I can take a cab"

"Please......just take the limo"

"Alright....I'll call you...." she smiled, reaching up to kiss him goodnight. As the kiss got more intense, Jerry reminded them that he was still in the room.

"Mmmmmm Hmmmmm" he smiled.

"Ummm, goodnight" she whispered.

"Night....sweet dreams"

Jax watched as Brenda walked into the elevator. "Alright Jerry, you've ruined my night with the most gorgeous woman on the planet. Now, why are you really here?"

"Like I said, I wanted to meet your mystery woman."

"And...."

"And.....Dad and Lady Jane told me to come check on you...."

"Why?" he asked, beginning to get a little upset.

"They're just a little worried about you. You know Lady Jane.....Besides, you haven't called them in a while. And Dad was a little concerned that your mind wasn't on business....but I can't say that I blame you." he laughed.

"What do you mean, my mind isn't on my work?!"

"Well, you haven't taken any time off of work before, and Dad was a little concerned about what's going on. Don't worry...when I tell him about Brenda I'm sure he'll completely understand" he grinned.

"Wait....since when is everyone worried about me? You're the one who's been getting himself in trouble all over Europe!"

"Hey, that was NOT my fault! How was I supposed to know she was married?!"

"I don't want to get into that, Jer. Besides, it's your life, not mine. I'll call Dad and Lady Jane and let them know I'm fine. How long are you staying in Port Charles?"

"I don't know.....are there any other women here that look like Brenda?" he grinned.

"Not a chance, she's one of a kind. But I'm sure you'll find someone to suit you..." Jax laughed.

"I'm sure I will...I put my things in the guest room, is that alright?"

"Sure! I've got plenty of room here. I'm going to go take a shower. Make yourself at home."

"Thanks, little brother," Jerry said as Jax left for the master bedroom.

Jerry checked to make sure Jax was really gone. He picked up the phone and dialed a number. "It's me....yeah, I'm in Port Charles....no, he doesn't know why I'm here. What are you talking about?! We can't tell him!!!! How do you think he's going to react to that?! We have to keep quiet....at least for now. He's happy now...if he finds out, it'll ruin everything....for him....and us....."

(BRENDA'S APARTMENT)

As Brenda got ready for bed, she smiled as she thought about the events that had taken place. She couldn't help but think about what could have happened if Jerry hadn't shown up....

"Oh no....thinking like that's not going to get me anywhere" she thought.

As she slid between the cool, crisp sheets she thought about Jax's smile....his laugh....his eyes....his kiss....WOW!!! What a kiss!!!!!!! She fell asleep dreaming about being in his arms, feeling his breath upon her cheek, and kissing him over and over again.

(BRENDA'S APARTMENT 9:00 A.M.)

RING....RING....

"Mmmmmmh" Brenda smiled, dreaming that she and Jax were deeply involved in a passionate kiss.

RING....RING....

"Huh?" she asked, the dream vanishing just as things were beginning to really heat up.

RING....RING....

"Hello?" she asked groggily.

"Good morning sleeping beauty"

"Jax!" she grinned, immediately fully waking up.

"I'm sorry, did I wake you? I forgot, you're not a morning person."

"No, that's okay. I should be getting up anyway...."

"It's just that I couldn't wait for you to call....I had to hear your voice." he smiled.

"Awww, you're so sweet" she laughed. "I wanted to call last night before I fell asleep, but I didn't want to interrupt if you and your brother were talking. How did that go?"

"Okay, I guess. Dad and Lady Jane sent him to check on me....they were a little worried."

"Really? Why?"

"Well...I've sort of taken a little time off from work. I've never really done that before, so they thought something was wrong."

"You didn't take time off because of me, did you? Jax, I don't want to keep you from doing your job--"

"Brenda, it wouldn't do any good trying to get any work done. All I'd do is think about you the whole time..."

"What did I ever do to deserve you?" she smiled. Brenda could feel him blushing. "Listen, promise me you'll try to get some work done today...."

"It's not going to do any good..." he grinned.

"What if I make you a deal?"

"I'm listening" Jax said, immediately intrigued.

"If you get some work done today, I'll take you out to a great club I know for dinner tonight."

"So let me get this straight, if I just get some work done I can spend a night on the town with you? You've got a deal!" he laughed.

"Great! I'll be at your place at eight."

"See you then" he grinned. "Oh, and Brenda......I love you"

"I love you too" she smiled, relishing the sound of those words. As she hung up the phone she sat back and thought about how wonderful it was to finally be able to say those words.

(GATEHOUSE 3:00 P.M.)

KNOCK.....KNOCK.....

"Coming...hold on" Lois yelled. "Hey Bren! I was just about to call you! What's up?"

"Hey Lo, I just wanted to talk."

"Oh, okay. Come on in" she smiled. "Is everything okay?"

"Everything's perfect" Brenda grinned.

"Ahhhh....so, how was last night? You and Jax looked pretty cozy when you guys left....."

"Uh huh" she smiled. "We went to his place, and just when things were beginning to get....."

"Uh huh" Lois smirked.

"Well, then Jax's brother, Jerry, interrupted us."

"What?! Talk about timing!" she laughed. "So, what did you do?"

"I left. I figured he and Jax needed to talk, so I went home."

"Oh, I'm sorry Bren."

"That's okay, we'll have other times."

"I'm sure you will!" Lois laughed. "From the looks of you guys last night, you definitely will!"

"Oh my gosh!" Brenda blushed. "Did everyone see us?!"

"Yup...but don't worry, I'm sure they completely understand. I mean, if Nedly ever did that for me, well, let's just say that it would not be G-rated!" she laughed.

"Lois!!!!" Brenda gasped, playfully hitting her best friend's arm.

"Hey, you and Jax weren't so G-rated last night either!"

"Okay, okay...I get the picture, thank you! Now, can we change the subject?"

"Alright...I want to ask you something, but you have to promise to keep an open mind" Lois warned.

"Um...okay" she answered, a little worried.

"Good. Now, let me just say how AMAZING you were last night!!! Everyone loved you!"

"Gee, thanks!" Brenda blushed.

"And....they wanted to know when your CD was coming out....see, they thought you were signed with L&B."

Brenda started laughing hysterically until she saw the look on Lois' face.

"You can't be serious!" she cried. "I know that look....no! Lo, you're crazy!"

"But Bren, remember how they loved you at the benefit concert too? Afterwards, the fans came up asking for your CD's too! Everyone wants you!"

"Lois, that's crazy! I can't do that for real!"

"Why not? You love being onstage, don't you?"

"Yes, but--"

"But what? Give me one good excuse!"

"Well....you see....."

"Uh huh" Lois smiled. "I thought so.....Listen, if you're scared about the commitment I'll sign you for a few local gigs until you feel a little more comfortable. How's that sound?"

"Can I say no?" she asked.

"No!" Lois laughed.

"Well, then I guess it's okay" she giggled. "I can't believe I'm doing this!"

"Trust me, you won't regret it"

"I hope not....hey, what time is it?"

"Um....it's about four o'clock....why?"

"I have to run some errands and then I have to get ready for my date with Jax." she grinned.

"Oh...." Lois smiled, knowingly.

"Yeah....so, I gotta go. I'll call you later, 'kay?"

"You bet. Have a good time! Tell Jax I said hi...."

"Okay....bye" Brenda smiled as she left the house, wondering what the night had in store.
