Adventures in Villainy

Part Six
Brenda shut the door behind her and leaned on it, taking a deep breath. Her mind was racing with a million different thoughts at once. She didn't know what to do. She had been interviewed by the police. She told them she was home all night, sleeping. Brenda knew now that was not the truth and her bloody sheets and blankets were proof of that.
"What have I done?" she moaned.
She replayed her and Sonny's last few weeks together and shuddered in disgust.
She was glad Sonny was dead; it was the least he deserved. But she was not going to jail, not for that monster.
Brenda strode to the closet and pulled out the bloody blankets. She found a garbage bag in the kitchen and stuffed the blankets in it. Now what? She
stopped and took a few deep breaths, trying to steady her thoughts. She wanted to burn the blankets but she didn't know where to go. Finally, Brenda decided to drive out of town. She would figure out what to do after that. She found her car keys and opened the door to go out. Detective Donovan was standing outside, her hand raised in preparation to knock. When she saw Brenda, her eyes widened and she pursed her lips in a strained smile.
"Good evening, Mrs. Corinthos. May I speak to you?"

Monica sifted through her mail, stopping when she saw the package. Curious, she undid the ribbon and lifted the top off the box.
"Oh my..." she said when she saw the breathtakingly beautiful Ruby brooch.
Retrieving the lid to the box, she slipped the note from under the ribbon and opened it, expectin to see a loving message from Alan She gasped when she read the note, all color draining from her face. The gift fell from her hands, forgotten.
"Pierce..."

"I'm glad you could make it, Alexis." Ned said, pouring another glass of wine.
"I couldn't stay away." Alexis said. "The business trip was frightfully
boring."
"I wish I had known you'd gone. I would have accompanied you."
"Don't be silly. You had business to take care of here."
"I suppose you're right. But it was agonizing without you."
Alexis smiled coldly as she laced her fingers through Ned's and kissed his hand lightly. Tonight she would put her plan in motion. By the end of the evening
Ned would have signed over control of the Quartermaines to Alexis. She hadn't been sure he would have the power to do that, but after months of digging, she had found a way. Alexis leaned over and kissed Ned, deftly slipping the powder Stefan had given her into his drink. Then she sat back and returned to her dinner, looking up at Ned coyly through her lashes. All she had to do was wait.
Katherine lay back on the bed, her blond hair splayed out on the silk navy sheets. She gave a throaty laugh and gazed hotly at Stefan. "That was...wonderful."
Stefan echoed her laugh and traced a finger along her neckline. "Well, the thought of money always turns me on."
Katherine propped herself up on one hand. "Ooh won't it be fabulous? All the money we ever wanted."
"And all the power." Stefan's eyes glinted like steel.
"Why do I get the feeling you're not in this entirely for the money?"
"Don't give it another thought, darling. You'll know soon enough."
Stefan silenced Katherine by enveloping her in a passionate embrace.

V. waded slowly back to Jerry's boat. He looked at her hopefully but she shook her head.
"Nothing. The ship's been torn apart. I'm sorry, Jerry."
Jerry's shoulder fell and he covered his eyes with his hand. His shoulders shook with silent sobs.
"There's no possibility...?" He asked through his tears.
"I don't see how. The ship had been destroyed and... there was blood on some of the broken pieces."
Jerry regained control and nodded stiffly. His eyes were filled with pain.
"Let's go back to Port Charles. I need to make preparations."
V. nodded nd followed Jerry back onto the ship.
Jax grinned at Moira when she set a tray of food in front of him. "This smells divine! Where di you get everything to make all this?"
"I find things around the island and grow a few things in a garden out back. You're looking better."
"I FEEL better. Whatever those herbs were that you gave me, they sure do the job! When do you think I can go home?"
The light in Moira's eyes died. "Well, you'll be healed soon, but I don't know how you'll get back home. I don't have a boat or a plane or any way of sending you back."
"What?! Well what about a telephone? A radio?"
"No phone. There was a radio but it's broken and I don't have any parts to fix it."
"Damn! I have to get home, my family will wonder what's wrong if I desert the business."
"I'm sorry." Moira's eyes filled with tears.
Jax cupped her face, "Hey...don't cry. It's not your fault. You've saved my life! Don't worry, I"m going to find a way to get myself home. Maybe I can fix your radio."
Moira smiled weakly and nodded. "Yes, I'm sure you'll find some way to do it.
Now, eat up. I'm going to go out and work in my garden.

"Oh God! I never thought I'd be so glad to set foot on solid ground." Nikolas stretched his shoulders, trying to work out the crick in them.
Lucky grinned, "Yeah and what beautiful ground it is! I can't wait to see my mom and dad!"
Nikolas sobered. "What if your dad won't listen to me? What if he thinks it's a plot?"
"Don't worry about it, man! I'm sure I can convince him that you're on the up and up. C'mon, let's try and find a car or something, I want to get home by dark."
"And how to you propose we do that? We're broke, remember?"
"Yeah, yeah. Who needs money when you know how to hotwire?"
"WHAT?!"
***
"I can't believe it!" Mac shouted.
"What? What is it?!" Jason asked, rushing to look over his shoulder.
"Look at this picture the security camera snapped at the airport here in Paris.
See that man in the right hand corner? The one with the sunglasses?"
"Yeah, so?"
"If I'm not mistaken, that man is Cesar Faison."
"Should that name mean something to me?"
"Maybe not to you, but it means something to me. Faison was the DVX agent responsible for my brother's and his wife's death. He's been a thorn in our sides for years. He was presumed dead but I'm not surprised taht he's shown up. If he was at the airport, then that means he's connected to this. No way is his showing up a coincedence."
"Okay, so we've figured out who probably took Robin and Felicia and the others.
How do we find out WHERE he took them?"
"I haven't figured that part out yet."
Anna paced back and forht. The room seemed to be closing in around her. "We're never getting out of here!"
"Don't say that mom! Someone's going to come sono, they've got to!" Robin said.
"Not if Faison hasn't left any evidence. We may be stuck here forever, Robin.
No one even knows about MY disappearance. I'M supposed to be dead. I don't even know where we are."
"I do." Holly said, coming up behind them. "We're in France, maybe Paris. All of the men that Faison has had with him speak French. That may not be proof but it does lead me to believe we're in France."
"Well that doesn't help much!" Anna snapped. "How does knowing where we are help? We're still stuck inside this gilded cage!"
Holly placed a finger to her lips and led Anna and Robin into the bathroom. She resumed talking in a hushed whisper. "This is the only place I haven't seen cameras. I think I know a way to get out. Anna, I need you to play along with
Faison. Act like you've changed your mind and you love him."
"WHAT?! Are you out of your mind?!"
"No! Just listen. I had some sleeping pills in my bag, I was able to hide them so Faison wouldn't confiscate them. I've broken them up into a small, dissolvable bag I had on me. If you could just slip it to him somehow and get the key to this room, one of us could escape then and get help."
"ONE of us?"
"Yes. I think that Faison wouldn't notice one person missing for awhile. That would give someone time to get help."
"Who do you propose goes?"
Holly gave her a withering look. "I REALLY don't care Anna. You can go if you want!"
Anna quieted for a moment, looking chagrined. "No...no. I think you have something here. But I can't go, I'm needed here to distract Faison. I think you should go, Holly. Besides myself, you're trained the best to escape without notice."
"Glad you see it my way." Holly smiled. "So do we have a deal? Our plan could go into motion tonight."
Anna clasped Holly's hand. "Deal. I'll go cahnge into something more...revealing."
