Stewart Copeland Update
This just in from Kryptone Records: Stewart is currently working on a bevy of projects: His joint "Oysterhead" project with Les Claypool (Primus) and Trey Anastasio (Phish) is still planning to schedule more gigs in the near future and may release their CD made from the New Orleans Jazz Festival (their only live concert to date). Stewart is also working on several film and TV projects. 'Breaking News' is a TNT series directed by and starring Ken Olin; 'Beyond the Glory' is another TV series to air for Fox ESPN. In addition, 'Deuces Wild' is a film feature starring Matt Dillion, Brad Renfroe, and others. He has an orchestral project called 'Orchestralia' (a 20- piece orchestra performing several of Stewart's pieces) to be premiered at this year's NAMM show in January.
The album "The Racketeers" of the new supergroup "Mad For The Racket" has been released on Nov 6th. It is available on Track Records (TRK1004CD, no US release yet, try Amazon UK for this title.
The planned London concert for Nov 14th has now been re-scheduled for Dec 12th at the 100 Club in London.

Sting gets his groove on in Emperor's New Groove CD.
On Dec. 15, Disney will release its big Christmas animated feature, The Emperor’s New Groove. But guess what? The movie is a kind of hybrid, not the film that it was supposed to be. It's been about 50 percent re-shot with a new director, actors, songs, etc.
In fact, the original movie Kingdom of the Sun had six songs written and sung by Sting. That movie was directed by the Lion King’s Roger Allers and starred the voice of actor Owen Wilson.
But then the suits intervened. Apparently, new Disney production chief Peter Schneider, who succeeded Joe Roth, took a look at Kingdom and freaked out. One Disney insider who saw Kingdom last spring told me: "I took one look at and I said I’m not bringing my kids to this." Kingdom, like Groove, was a Prince and the Pauper story about Emperor Kuzco (voiced by the annoying David Spade from Just Shoot Me). "It was a serious, slow-moving film with very un-Disney like drawings," said one insider.
But Disney — not having the greatest winter with the unwatchable Unbreakable and the questionable 102 Dalmatians — wanted a Lion King/Aladdin-type hit for Christmas. So out went Allers, and in came Mark Dindall, who has no directing credits but had worked on previous Disney hits. Also out went Wilson, whose character "was easy to erase since it’s animation," sniffed my source.
Maybe 50 percent of what was shot was changed. And also out the window went Sting’s songs. Instead they are included on the just released soundtrack of The Emperor’s New Groove, although they’re not in the movie. The soundtrack is "inspired" by the movie.
Meanwhile, Sting wrote two new songs for Groove, one of which he sings. The other is sung by Tom Jones. The rest of Sting’s songs are history. Except they may turn up. Sting’s wife, Trudy Styler, was busy recording the whole debacle for a documentary. Her film, The Sweat Box will show, with presumably no editorial censorship, a history of how the movie started out one way, and ended up another.

ANDY'S CREAM
--------------------------
Jack Bruce recently announced the formation of a new trio "HotFlash", with Andy Summers on guitar and Dennis Chambers on drums! An album and tour are to follow early next year.
Jack Bruce: "Andy and myself have already written more than twenty new songs and the band recorded seven in one day! As you can tell I am very excited about this. The band sounds great - very much the Cream Police! and can't wait to get back to work. We plan our first release early next year and then we want to hit the road bigtime.
Around the world - at least around the world!" (from: http://www.jackbruce.com)
