James Fantasy League
With the departure of Tim Booth from the ranks of James, although it is a very sad day, we here at One Fan Clapping are incredibly excited about the musical futures of all the musicians involved. So, we've decided to make certain that everybody follows their future career paths with as much interest as we will until the release of the first post-Tim record. In order to make this an even more exciting prospect, we've turned it into a game.
Rules:
Each player should pick a team of 3 members worth a combined total of no more than 5 points. Each mention in the popular music press will gain points for the bandmember mentioned. Publications which qualify: New Musical Express, Q, Uncut, as well as BBC and Channel 4 teletext pages. Points are calculated as follows:
Mention in the crossword – 1 point for each bandmember actually in the band during the time period mentioned (i.e. if the NME asks for band who recorded “Born of Frustration” only bandmembers who played on that song will receive points)
Advert – 2 points
Mention in a gig guide/listing – 2 points
Short news item – 3 points
Long news item – 4 points
Picture inside the paper – 5 points
Feature article/interview – 7 points
Mention on the cover – 8 points
Picture on cover/cover story – 10 points
It is expected that players will keep track of their team’s weekly points and will mail their point totals to justhipper@hotmail.com no later than midnight Sunday each week. If you miss more than one week your team will be disqualified. And we will know if you’re lying because everyone else will be sending their results in as well….
How to pick a Team:
You must choose a total of THREE bandmembers, adding up to a total worth of no more than five points. Players are allowed up to three transfers during the course of the competition. Available bandmembers and their values are as follows:
