In 1965, the Beatles started to feel bored with "regular" rock and roll, so they started to experiment with new sounds. From this idea, many new songs were born, as they stopped touring. The title of the album itself refers to the elasticity of trying new things, and the cover is simply a group shot of the Beatles. The sitar, an Indian instrument, was introduced to rock by George Harrison on this album. Several of the songs, including Norweign Wood, Nowhere Man, and I'm Looking Through You are very distinct in their sounds. Also of note is the ballad Michelle written by Paul. The album is 35 minutes long and was produced by George Martin.
