Jamie's One Shot
Little is known of Jamie Madrox from before his founding of the IHFC Hellions. Most days,
Jamie likes it that way. He's never been open about his past, but this is what's been
compiled to date. Jamie Madrox, a.k.a. Evil Guido was born in Sage, Nebraska on April 7,
1969, to an unknown father and a mother that died in childbirth. Naturally, he grew up in an
orphanage, and stayed there well into his adolescence. It is believed that during this time,
he was first contacted by the villain know as Mr. Sinister. It was also here that Jamie
exhibited his first signs of a mutant power, which was to make a carbon copy of himself on
physical contact. It is unknown if this is a natural mutation or if it was actually caused by
Sinister. Eventually, Jamie turned 18, and left for parts unknown. The next time he was
sighted was on the picture of a postcard of Wundagore Mountain. It is highly unlikely that
it was intentional, since had covered his tracks well in the few years in between and has
done an equal or better job since. The popular speculation is that Jamie was there to
consult the Hellgoat about his mutation. It is also known that Jamie completed training with
the Taskmaster, and was even the valedictorian of the class of '92. Jamie then disappeared
again until the fateful day when he mistakenly crashed a Hellfire Club party. That's when
Jamie met his destiny.
Jamie was on a hit when he found the party, well, it wasn't exactly a hit, more of a spy job.
Jamie never minded, he enjoyed the variety. He'd take a few hits, a few burglaries, the
occasional spy job, it never mattered to him, he was good at all of it. But no matter what it
was called, Jamie would call it a hit. Tonight he was assigned to gather information on a guy
called Mischance. He never asked why, he had a job to do, and he was going to do it.
Sometimes, when you're getting paid that well for an info job, it's better not to ask why.
He made the usual connections, and found out that Mischance was in Boston, but no one ever
told him where. That was okay, Jamie knew some guys in Boston that would hook him up with
anything. That's what happens when they owe you their lives. The first guy Jamie looked up
was a man by the name of Supanova. Supanova knew Mischance, and said that they were
going to the same party that night. Some sort of rich guy's club, Jamie could come, but he
better look the part. Well, freelance pays well, and Jamie always had suits with him, you
just never know when you'll meet the next employer.
Later that night, around dusk, Jamie drove up to Mansion that Supanova told him to come to.
He was immediately impressed. This was definitely an upscale party, there were most of the
most influential and powerful people in the entire eastern seaboard at this party. Most of
them he recognized from newspapers and television, and some were past employers. Jamie
thought it good to keep a low profile. He made a few passing conversations, had a few drinks
and relaxed. After all, these people were far too rich and busy with their businesses to
ever get their hands dirty in his line of work. He was wrong. He was also too relaxed. He
had no idea that he was being watched and scouted. Besides, he was working. He found out
Mischance was a time jumper, with the delusion of killing Apocalypse in all timelines. He
reminded Jamie of Cable, who Jamie had the misfortune of meeting once. He also noticed
the man that would change his life forever that night, though he had no clue he did. While
sitting at the bar, he noticed a man on the dance floor with almost all the females there. He
was obviously a womanizer, but he was damn good at it. Jamie almost thought of taking notes
on the guy's technique, but as soon as he thought that, the man was walking towards him to
get another drink. Jamie introduced himself, the man's name was Ryan Jensen, he was quite
arrogant, and even called himself Lord once. Ryan took a great interest in Jamie, and even
set up an appointment for Jamie to meet with him later in the week. Jamie wished him well,
had one for the road, and went to his hotel to report his findings of the night.
Later that week, Jamie went to his meeting with Ryan, and again he was amazed at the
building he was walking into. It was right on Beacon Street, across from the Public Garden,
and even though Jamie had been down that street many times before, he'd never seen that
building before. He also noticed the letters IHFC above the door as he walked in. When he
got to Ryan's office, Ryan sat Jamie down and explained about the Hellfire Club. Jamie was
surprised that he never heard of it before. This organization has some of the most powerful
and influential people in the world on it, most of them have superpowers, and yet Jamie
never heard of them. But what he heard impressed them. Apparently, Ryan had a contract
for him. He wanted a guy named Gregor, who had been snooping around, trying to get info on
them removed. Permanently. Jamie never took a job this way, but he was impressed with the
idea of this Hellfire Club, and asked for membership on the spot. Jamie certainly wasn't
rich by their standards, but he had a few million scattered around the globe. Ryan
apologized, but all the spots in the group were filled, and he had no intention of adding any
more members. He said that the only way anyone new would be admitted would be if there
were vacancies. That's when it hit Jamie. He hit Ryan with his proposal. Eventually, there
would be vacancies, it a fact of life. But when that happens, would they want to enlist
someone off the street, or would they rather have someone that had been training to be one
of them. Jamie even offered to gather and teach them. Ryan said it had merit, but he'd have
to consult with his colleagues. Two weeks later, Jamie got the message that the Hellfire
Club liked his idea, and he could start recruiting at his leisure. The Hellions were born.
Jamie's first recruits were some colleagues of his, Cyclops, SuperGrover!!! and Blink*.
There were more, but these three soon became his closest friends and his right hands in the
Hellions. Of course, there were more, but Jamie was always closest to these three. The
Hellions became the pride of the IHFC, and eventually pawns that the Inner Circle used at
their whim. Eventually, Most of the Inner Circle disappeared for an unknown reason. All
that was left was Ryan, the Red King and the White King and Queen, Shaman and Jon. Jamie
was promoted to Red Bishop, Blink* to Red Queen, SuperGrover to White Bishop, and
Cyclops to Red Knight. This was Jamie's dream, but it soon turned into a nightmare. Ryan
became more and more controlling of Jamie, and Start forcing Jamie to make new bodies
for Ryan's power to possess. By this time, Jamie was extremely devoted to the Inner Circle,
and most of his recruits were members, so he had reason. But unknown to Ryan, Jamie had
also developed friend in the BHC, a rival organization, such as Deadpool, Havok, and their
Former King, Gregor. It was about this time that the previously chronicled "Out of Time"
adventure took place.
By this point, Jamie realized why Ryan made him Red Bishop, it was to keep him closer So
that Ryan's new bodies were more readily available. This was something that Ryan
definitely abused, and he had no intention of ever letting Jamie out of his spot. But by the
time Jamie caught on, it was too late. Because making dupes with separate powers was
already an augmented power, the strain on his system was nearly unbearable, and Jamie was
regressed to a near feral state. He only wanted to inflict on others the same pain he was in,
Jamie thought that that might've been Sinister's intention all along, but he had no idea why.
He hated being a pawn in the power play between Sinister and the High Evolutionary. So,
when the battle happened, Jamie's only thought was to run, and was eventually healed by the
morlock healer, but the catch was that he could no longer make any dupes at all, He just had
Telekinesis and Blades that could penetrate any TK. His age also regressed by 10 years.
Jamie decided to test the fates, and hooked back up with the IHFC, not letting Ryan know
that he couldn't make dupes. It was a dangerous game, but Jamie knew that the slot of
White King was soon opening, and that he could use it to overthrow Ryan, and make him
suffer for what Ryan did to him. Unfortunately, his friend SuperGrover was named White
King, so Jamie then thought to take SG's place as the new White Bishop. But Ryan would not
let that happen, instead giving the title to Cyclops. Jamie had no idea what to do, he didn't
want to see his friends in the White Team hurt, but he wouldn't allow himself to be used by
Ryan anymore either, So instead, he petitioned the BHC for membership and became their
Black Assassin.
Jamie's true connection to Mr. Sinister, the Hell Goat, and the Taskmaster are still
unrevealed, as is the recent return of his powers, and his reasons for his periodic leaves of
absence. It's clear that he is set to become a major player in Hell's Fire, but are his
intentions noble or self centered? That's a story for a different time.
