PLOT: A lower-class guy (Stephen Brown) becomes heir to an estate, but almost loses his girlfriend (Heather Moss). A musical comedy.

HISTORY: During the Spring of 1993, me and other members of my art class helped to paint the sets for this musical.
To give myself something to do, I borrowed a video camera from my dad's place of business, filmed one crew session and one rehearsal for this show, and used the footage to make a crudely-edited mostly-unseen "behind-the-scenes" documentary called "Me and My Girl: Together Again". With only two standard VCR's and a video camera to edit and overdub with, it was a very amateur film, but with some charm to it.
The film didn't get any public exposure, but the tape case that I and fellow art student Leroy Orso designed for it--displayed with my cardboard model of the play's "Hareford Hall" set--won third place in a Corning art contest under the "Advertising and Design" category.
Over two years later, I told Tom Jackson about the documentary, and he asked me to let him borrow it. The tape ended up being screened at a cast party for the CCC one-act double feature of "Crawling Arnold" and "Winners." Tom loved the film, saying that it brought back pleasant memories.
All in all, my involvement with "Me and My Girl" was a generally positive experience, and I've been interested in theater ever since.
