Remote Control The age of electric tabbed by: Jon Adams badams@avalon.nf.ca This song is pretty easy and it sounds great! It's fun to play, fun to sing, it has a cool video, but enough out of me, on to the song. Intro:(lead guitar) E--------------------------------------------------- B--------6-5------6-5-------------6-5------6-5------ G--5-3------5-3-------------5-3------5-3------------ Repeat. D--------------------------------------------------- A--------------------------------------------------- E--------------------------------------------------- One thing to remember about this riff is to let the notes ring. After you play the intro, the rhythm guitar will come in with a simple power chord riff. Chords used: C5: G#5: F5: X355XX 466XXX 133XXX Play a C5 for two bars while the lead guitar plays the intro and then holds the 8th fret on the B string when the lyrics come in. Here's the rhythm guitar part as it corresponds with the lyrics. C5 The difference, between us, is negative one. C5 G#5 C5 The math is simple...subtract attractive opposites. When the rhythm plays the G#5 chord, the lead guitar does this: -----------8---(let ring) The second time the rhy. plays G#5, it'salittle --------8------ different. Sumthin' like this: --------------- --------8--8------ ----6---------- -----8------------ --------------- ---------------7-- --------------- --6--------------- ------------------ ------------------ Then, the pre-chorus, where Todd sings "Kingpin crumbles..." just play a continuous F5. And now the chorus: lead: -11-10-11-10-11-10-11-10- ------------------------- --8--7--8--7--8--7--8--7- ------------------------- ------------------------- ------------------------- rhythm: ----------------------------------- ----------------------------------- ----------8-8-8-8------------------ -6-6-6-6--8-8-8-8--8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8- -6-6-6-6--6-6-6-6--8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8- -4-4-4-4-----------6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6- Okay, after repeating that enough times, play the little pre-verse part again and the verse, then the pre-chorus, then the chorus and finally, we get to the solo. In the solo, the rhythm guitar is trickier than the rest of the song. It plays a disconnected C but higher on the fretboard. Here it is: -8------------------ -------------------- --------------7-8--- Keep repeating this until ----10-------------- the chorus riff comes in again. --------10---------- ------------------8- The lead guitar plays a simple solo which is based around the intro riff. Here it is: ----------------------------------------13-12-----------13-12--15--- ------6-5-------6-5--8--13-11-----------13-11----------------------- -5-3-------5-3------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------- After the solo, you play the chorus a few more times and then, the outro. Outro: ------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------ -5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-7-7-7-7-8-8-8-8---------- -5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-7-7-7-7-8-8-8-8--6------- -3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-5-5-5-5-6-6-6-6--6------- ----------------------------------4------- And that's it.
