If anyone has got the Beck song 'Feather In Your Cap' off the SubUrbia Soundtrack album in MP3 format PLEASE PLEASE let me know. I can't get the CD and I've only heard a bit of this song but it's GREAT. If you have the cd please make a mp3 file and let me know, I will be ETERNALLY grateful. I have loads of mp3's myself that I can let you have in exchange. CHORDS: [capo on 3rd fret] ------- EADGBE EADGBE EADGBE G (320033) C (x32010) Asus4 (x02230) A (x02220) D (xx0232) Am (x02210) F# (244322) F (133211) C/Bb (x12010) Em (022000) E (022100) To play this song, put a capo on the third fret. All chord names and numbers are relative to the capo. The way I've transcribed this song, first I've put all the lyrics with the chords if you just wanna strum it. Then below all that I put the tab for all the picking, (actually a harpsichord in the song) which sounds great. So look below all the lyrics to see the tab. If you decide to just strum the song, you may think the chord C/Bb(x12010) sounds kinda strange. Well, it's meant to be picked, not strummed so that's the reason. But you could try playing it like this (x1x010), muting the D string. Try it and just use what you think sounds best. INTRO: ------ G A F# G Em A C D VERSE 1: -------- G A These withered hands F# G have dug for a dream Em A Sifted through sand and C D leftover nightmares VERSE 2: [play like verse 1] -------- Over the hill a desolate wind Turns shit to gold and blows my soul crazy CHORUS: ------- G A The end, o the end F C We live again E Asus4 A I grow weary of the end VERSE 3: [play like verses 1 & 2] -------- O hungry days In the footstep of fools gazing alone through sex-painted windows VERSE 4: [play like verses 1,2 & 3] -------- Dredging the night Drunk libertines Stink like colognes from a new-tangled wasteland CHORUS: [play like previous chorus] ------- The end, o the end We live again I grow weary of the end BRIDGE: ------- F C E Love is a plague, in a mix-match parade Am F Where the castaways look so deranged E F When will children learn to let their wildernesses burn C C/Bb Asus4 A And love will be new, never cold and vacant [I just thought of something. You could try playing the C/Bb chord as just a regular C7 (x32310). Try it and see what you think] INTERLUDE: [played like intro and verses] ---------- G A F# G Em A C D VERSE 5: [play like previous verses] -------- These withered hands have dug for a dream Sifted through sand and leftover nightmares CHORUS: [play like previous choruses] ------- The end, o the end We live again I grow weary of the end TABLATURE: ---------- The chord names above the tab are the chord names used in the song above, so they are all relative to the capo on the third fret. However, this tab is NOT played with a capo, but I used the old chord names just so it would be easier to see how the tab fits with the lyrics, but these are of course not really the *correct* chord names. Try not to let this confuse you. Sometimes the song sounds like there are two harpsichords playing at the same time. I've tried to arrange it all for one guitar as well as I can. This is hard to play but mostly you use barred chords and embellish them a little with 6ths and 7ths. Most of the chords are easiest played as E-type barre chords. It's best to use the thumb on the low E string, or that's what I think. In some places you can skip the bass, I'm not sure there actually is a bass note there, but it sounds better on guitar that way. Whenever there's a slide, hammer-on or pulloff, you do it very quickly. Well, try the tab and see what you think, it's a bitch to play it, but when you've got it, it sounds great! h = hammer-on p = pull-off / = slide up \ = slide down. I transcribed the verse from the first verse, and the chorus from the first chorus. In later verses and choruses there might be some variations but I don't think so and I'm not gonna spend hours listening to the song just to find one note that's different. Hope you enjoyed this tab, it took me hours to make!! ********************************************************************** Questions, comments, corrections, requests, send to: qualitytabs@qualitytabs.tk ********************************************************************** Visit the QUALITY TABS INC.
