Holland, Rotterdam: Ahoy - October 13, 1997

My girlfriend and I arrive at the Ahoy-hal in Rotterdam at about
20:15. Sparklehorse was already playing. When we came in they played
2 more songs before they left. :-(

The tension builds when around 21:15 the lights dim and "Fitter
Happier" is played. The band appears and they start off with Airbag,
one of my personal favourites of the new album.

The concert was absolutely great and halfway the concert Thom said
to the audience that it was nice to be back in Holland and he said
something like this: "I know you dutch people are quiet listeners.
Ok a thousand people quiet, but thousands?? Let's make some noise!"
And then they kick of one of their louder songs (Lurgee). A few songs later he says that they still have to
get used to playing in front of larger audiences and that they
          appreciate us being there.
It was a bit of a surprise that they played "The Trickster". Thom
said that he'd promised to play it before, and that it was for all
the people who we're following them for a long time"
Before they play Creep, Thom says: "This is and old song, I hope you
like it, if you don't just let us know". He pulls up his shoulders
          and laughs.
Between songs Colin jump's around and laughs while he shakes his
          hand like it's tired.

Before the second encore Thom comes on to stage and says: "Hello,
we're a band called Radiohead, we're pleased to meet you!" And
laughs, they end their concert with High and Dry.

          Greetings, Joost
