Well, i read a lot of report and i want again to thank poeple who send them to us on the list.
Now, it's my turn, and i'm afraid i 'm not going to do as well as them.
There is a strange thing that happened to me after a gig : i forget all as soon as the last note ringed.
But maybe it was because of my little experience in gig, and now i have
seen several gigs, my memory become better after each
gig. So here my report.
First, the gig was moved to another venue, but u don't care, i'm sure.
We (my boyfriend and i) arrived in front of the Zenith (the
new venue) at 6 pm. And more than one hundred people were already there.
The time was cold, and the rain began to fall half
an hour before the opening of the doors. First it was the rush, everybody
was pushing to come in the first as to be at the front.
It was a short but awful rush.I manage to be in the middle at two or
three rows from the front. I would have like to be against
the barrier but where i was it was great. I was taller than all the
people front of me and front of the place of Thom. People kept
on come in running to get a good place. Then, a quarter after entering
the room, it became to push. We were more and more
packed, but it was still good to see a great gig. And STUPID WANKERS
began to push more and more, to the left then to the
right, we were so packed that i could have touch the barrier (if i
could have hold out my hand) whereas there were five or six
people between me and the barrier. It became more and more harder to
breath and stay stable.
The Sparklehorses entered and stupid people near me began to insult
them. they (the SparkleHorses) were cool, good music,
not wonderful, but good. But i had to give up my good place at the
middle of their songs, i was able to breath anymore, was
about to fall so many times, and my ribs hurted me alot. So my boyfriend
help me to make a way out, and we went out of the
room, all wet and out of breath. I was so dissapointed to lost this
wonderfull place and so irritated by those stupid people who
were pushing the others and make a great show became hell. But we came
in again, far, very far from the front of the scene,
and looked (and listened) to the end of the Sparkle Horses show. Then....
Then after a pause and some adjustments on the scene, the lights turned
off and fitter happier began, and they came in. First
Colin, then Jonny, Ed and Thom. Didn't see Phil came in and sat under
his drums. Like usualy they began with Airbag, and i
began to danced wildly and sang along all the songs. Then Karma Police,
My Iron Lung, so powerfull i was no more under
control ! All the songs from The Bends was really powerfull, played
with so much energy ! The lights were wonderfull, in MIL
when Thom sang "if you frightned, you could be frightened...", they
were all light in an intense red light that make the scene
looked like hell !
I was pleasantly surprised to hear The Trickster and Banana Co, but
a little dissapointed to hear Creep, because, there were so
many songs that i would have like to listen. They didn't do Let Down
to my desesparation. They made two encores, the last
one with only Nice Dream.
Thom was laughing at the end of No surprises, and i thought it was because
of the concentration of jonny on the xylophone.
Jonny was playing so close to the xylophone that his nose could have
touch it !
Ed was wearing a sexy tight t-shirt, Thom was wearing a very long shirt,
joony was wearing a shirt too, but i wasn't able to see
Phil and no enought Colin. They were all full of energy, and it was
a great gig. I was completly exhausted to have dance so
windly and sing all the songs so strongly (and badly).
Someone seemed to record the show near me, and i apologize if my voice is recorded, because it will be awfull.
I fighted to catch a playlist, but was to weak to jump enought high.
When the roadies threw some plectors my reflexes were so
low that when the plector falled just near my foot, i didn't get the
reflex to put my foot on it, and when i reacted and decided to
bend to pick it up someone jumped on it, and it was too late...
Then we went out the room, in the hall, and looked at the Tshirts, i
bought the "Kickcking squealing Gucci little piggy" one with
a lost child at the bottom, black with the "against demon" blue star
above the kicking..., and my boyfriend bought the mutagenic
one in navy blue.
Well, i think that's all my memory allows me to remember, i'm really
sorry a lot is about my personnal experience, as long i will
not be able to be near the front, it will be hard to remember clearly
what happened on the scene. And as long as i will be in
transe, shaking my body and my head like a crazy Radiohead fan that
i am....!
Here the playlist, and it's a miracle a can remember all the songs, but not in right order...
Fitter Happier
Airbag
Karma Police
My Iron Lung
Exit Music
Subterranean Homesick Allien
(now the order isn't good anymore, sorry...)

Well, i hope to do a best report next saturday because i will see them AGAIN !!!
Nataly :0Þ
Hi all !
First let me introduce myself !
I'm 25, and I'm the boyfriend of Nataly (since 4 years :o) ), i'm playing
bass guitar, guitar, drums and didgeridoo, in fact all
instruments i can touch. I've a band, named "B-4-11", and we try to
compose songs, but it's hard to do great songs like
Radiohead do ! I've seen approximately 100 or more gigs.
I've been dissapointed by the reactions of some people near me in the
crowd when the SparkleHorses played. The reactions
were like:" We don't like cowboy..." (the singer weared a cowboy hat),
or "Go out... Go away... Stop this shit...". I'm a great
fan of Radiohead, and I'm conscious that all the people who came to
the gig are fan of Radiohead, and wanted to see and to
hear Radiohead ! But, there is not only Radiohead in life !!! Who among
you are only listen to Radiohead music all the days
and only Radiohead ??? When I seen a band like the SparkleHorses in
scene, I realized they have the chance to perform there
music live, in front of thousand people, even if those people aren't
their fan. Please, don't have reactions like these. Imagine you
are a band and you are invited to open for RH, what a marvelous chance
!!! I whish one day to be able to open for a great
band like RH, and I'm pissed of hearing bad reactions like this.
Ok, that all for this ! It's not a judgement but my own opinion !
Here is my addition of the nataly report.
Thom wears a long shirt with short sleeves (very important !!!), instead of jonny who wears long sleeves.
All of the band, cut their hair off (phil too :o) ), all jonny fans would appreciate to see his face !
There has been fabulous strobe lightning during Creep (when the song was stronger).
I'm dissapointed by the general sound, the drums was a little bit louder,
and the bass was louder too, compared to the guitars
sound level. But I can't blame it for the bass guitar, I'm playing
bass too, and I hate Colin because I can't see his finger on the
bass to take out the notes of the bass lines. :o)
Nataly said: " We didn't hear very well the voice of Thom, sometimes, I was hearing my voice more than his one."
In the break of Lucky, thom made a sign 3 times with his right hand
to give the rythm to the other. If you see RH soon, look for
this sign !!!
I promised a right play list for their gig at Paris.
That's all for me. I leave now, I hope this didn't bore you !!!
Fred Signing off...
It's Nataly again, i would like to add something. I'm really ashamed
to leave that great place in the front of the scene, because
i'm sure a lot of u had endured more violent pushes at gig, and i,
poor little girl, i leave because of that. But, i swear it was really
difficult and my body was over his limits. I'm ashamed and sad, but
i will try harder saturday, because i want to see them closer,
and see Thom smiling, and saturday, it will be the last time i will
see them, before....well, i don't know when.
