having met up at the trainstation several happy listees made their
way first to the yh to check in and then through some heavy rain to
the venue. on the way we got overtaken by rh's tourbus and
consequently just when we arrived thom and jonny were traing to get
into the venue. why they were in such a bad mood as to even start
kicking closed steel doors we couldn't figure out. maybe the rain.
inside there was an invasion of irish/english/american people some of
whom seemed to be more into headbanging and kicking other people than
rh's music. we tried to write down the setlist, but failed coz our
pens weren't working on our sweaty arms. as far as i can remember
they played all of 'the bends' excepttwo songs (enela should know
which) and all of ok except electioneering and let down. that plus
talk show host and creep. 22 songs in all.
unfortunately you'll have to ask one of the others for what went on
onstage after the fourth song, coz then i got pushed over and
somebody was 'kind' enough to give me a good kick in the head. so i
stumbled out of the crowd and spent the rest of the gig sitting in
a
corner fighting down panic/tears etc. i don't know if any of you
remember, but i was the one who recently 'lost' her left eye (the
door accident), so i wasn't too pleased about the fact that after the
kicking in the head i discovered my sight had nearly gone completely
on both eyes. my luck... the only good thing was that i was able to
convince the paramedics that i did NOT have to go to hospital. the
next morning i felt better as well, and now i'm back to having only
one disfunctional eye like before.
still. needless to say because of that the gig as a whole was the
worst experience i had in a long time. but that's not rh's fault.
ok. that was my view of things. sorry for lack of rh content, but i
wanted to get rid of my anger at not really 'seeing' them...
thanks for reading.
