I promised..i know..don’t yell nor shout at me..i have a minor good
excuse not to have posted the review and the setlist the other day..i
graduated and now got me european baccalaurate!!wahey..that was smth
staying up for,eh?so,i got on the train to cologne on Wednesday morning
to meet 9 other radiolistees (hey,ain’t that a name for us..)..the rest
you already know from heike and tique..so..here’s the setlist..running
order will not be the right one i’m afraid..there was no one to rec the
show either..we are useless aren’t we?..

9.10  pm -Fitter,Happier..last lines..band comes on stage..

first to come back..smiling and cheering for we were such a good

1.The Tourist plus fitter happier..makes 22 songs..they played from 9.10
pm to about 11.10pm..

the thing i could remember is that they played after about half an
hour..so maybe after MIL,a strong and loud one..then to calm us down a
slow one..eg..the end CUTW and Just..i know one could disguss whether
CUTW is a slow song to calm us down..but it was scary enough for the
moshers to stop for a few min..

things to ponder..

-thom played several songs without a plec..Exit,CUTW,TSH,Bullet
Proof..which i thought was nice..he got very sexy hands.. ;)
-whilest playing MIL (or was it Airbag..dunno anymore) thom’s e-string
broke..he had to change guitar whilest singing..missed the ‘the head
shrinkers..’ bit with his guitar..he doesn’t play the cool bit anymore
when singing this..either he’s getting lazy or he has to re-learn them..
-colin had a general good time..laughing most of the
time..smiling..waving to us..cheering..
-jonny cut his finger whilest playing Just..walked off stage sucking his
finger..missed out couple of bars whilest playing the xylophone in No
Surprises..during one song pretty much in the beginning he walked over
between thom and ed..stood there for some time with his guitar and
stared at us..did that again several times during the show..
-phil was hiding behind his drums and tried to keep the rythm..did an
excellent job..whenever he’s playing a ‘difficult’ bit (loops and
such..you drummers know better..),he looked as if he was in
pain..pulling a face..
-ed was looking down on us,smiling,cheering at the end..having a good
time i suppose..well,you gotta ask tique for that one.. =)
-in the beginning of Exit the stupid americans (sorry,but those really
were some pain in the ass..) from seattle kept shouting ‘do it to us
thom..’ and ‘thom i love you..’,they obviously didn’t mean it since they
didn’t know a single song nor word from a song nor did they know who was
who..they asked me who was jonny..then after figuring out who was
who,they prepared some shoe souls on which they wrote different (wow,how
creative..what an effort..) messages for each member of the
group..everyone but phil..they said ‘oh,no,we don’t like the phil..’they
kept asking whether you write jonny with an ‘g’ or not and whether with
or without an ‘h’..now that i think showed how much they were into
rh!good thing the ddin’t get Exit so after awhile they didn’t know what
to do to try to bother thom and they eventually stopped..
-there must have been at least 10 other ppl from IRE..who contributed
their part to the moshing..but compared to the americans they knew who
the band was playing in front of them..and they helped us getting rh out
for the 3rd encore!
-at the end of the concert thom threw his plec down to us from the
stage..it came closer and closer..but unfortunately never made it..it
dropped down to the floor just before it reached the
barriers..*damn*..but it was funny though to see the entire front row
look down with all the heads behind the barriers..
-thom had some guiness and water during the concert..decided to go with
water after a good quarter of an hour..it was pretty hot and
claustrophobic anyway..
-ed and phil went with evian
-whereas colin stuck to beer the entire show..
-jonny looked like a scared little child the whole show..wide big,brown
eyes..looked like this lost child image/pic..think for him it was a bit
stressful..erm,no that’s not the word..he looked a bit pissed off
actually to me..IMHO..what do you think who went to cologne as
well?let’s just say he wasn’t enjoying himself the whole time..think it
got better with the end of the show and the encores..he definitely
enjoyed The Tourist..i thought so...
-thom did a lot of thom.ish twitching, angel-impressions (waving his
arms about..) and seemed to enjoy teasing us by standing in front of
us..(not more than 1 m away from me..) and either played his guitar or
smiled at us..

everybody off the list who was going to see rh in cologne except
dani..(who was a BIT  late and almost forced the others without tix to
buy them from a guy who was selling them for twice the actual
price..)and you thomas..(didn’t you know about the listmeet or didn’t i
see/notice you..*enela feels a bit stupid now..*) arrived at the venue a
bit more then 3 hours early..we came just in time for we saw jonny jump
(!!so he was in a better mood then..) out of the tour bus..he walked up
towards the fence (with a violet backpack..),which separates the venue
entrance,looked around the corner and saw the other 20 ppl waiting
outside the e-werk (name of the venue..)..he turned around to thom who
just climbed out of the bus and said smth to him.thom rolled his eyes
and the 2 of them drew closer..i couldn’t believe my eyes..thom and
jonny in their real carnate state!!. when.jonny passed by,he didn’t look
up/or at me nor really down/or anybody else in particular..he just
walked by,didn’t pay that much of attention towards the other ppl who
were waiting outside with us and made his way to the entrance..where he
started banging his shoes against the door..he was followed by thom,who
in his huge leather coat (the one from the select mag) and a big black
leather hat looked like a tramper..esp with his backpack..he’s sooo
cute..*sigh*..when he walked by,i couldn’t help myself,but to stare and
smile shyly at him and said ‘hi’..i don’t know if he really heard
that..i don’t really care..he glimpsed at me for a sec,nodded with his
head and said ‘hi’ as well..well,at least that’s what i think he did..he
did open his mouth..he also nodded his head when passing the other ppl
who were seeking shelter from the rain..nobody dared to ask him nor
jonny for an autograph..they just looked so fucking,bloody pissed
off..maybe they were late for rehearsal..marnie and christian,who
survived glasto said that the lads were already in a bad mood in glasto
esp thom,because of all the technical probs the had..and after talking
to ppl who saw them in hamburg..who said that they were in that mood
already at the hamburg gig,because ppl kept coming up to them and asked
for an autograph and such...and maybe the fact that they were late added
up to their mood or smth....since we were just outside the concert
halél,we could hear them rehearsing PA, Blow Out, Exit ,CUTW,maybe 1 or
2 others and one other song..which none of us knew..or maybe it was just
a practise song to ‘warm up’ his voice..it sounded very
interesting..smth between Exit and erm, No Surprises/Let Down..a slow
and intense one..but it was funny when they started to rehease..you
could hear no instruments at all,just thom’s voice going..’rain down on
me...from the great hei..’which caused us ppl outside to smile/laugh and
cheer up..looking forward to getting in..
