Please do not be vulgar or offensive in your postings. Swearing is fine, but don't go over the top with it or anything. I (RushGoddess) reserve the right to edit your post if you go too far. Also, I would like to ask that you do not discuss religion and/or politics on this board. With the Internet community encompassing such a wide spectrum of beliefs, there is far too much of a risk for unintended insults and hurt feelings. So please, if you wish to discuss religion or politics, take it to a religious or political forum. Thank you.
Flaming: This is not a good thing. Please don't do it. If for some reason a huge flaming war ensues, you will be asked to take it elsewhere. If you refuse to take it elsewhere after myself and/or others have asked you to cut it out, it may result in your being banned. So don't take it that far, okay?
Webmaster Bashing: Yes, believe it or not, I actually have to put a section in here for this. With all of the Rush webmaster in-fighting that has been going on lately, some people have been tempted to come to Weird City and other Rush message boards and cause trouble by viciously bashing other fans. Webmaster bashing is not tolerated at Weird City. I want to keep WC as a fun and friendly place to be, and webmaster bashing does not help to promote this atmosphere. I have a simple policy for this. This first time it happens, you will be politely asked to take your troubles elsewhere, and your comments may or may not be deleted, depending on their severity. If it happens again, we begin to move into the banning phase, which is outlined below. I am not a fan of censorship or banning, but I am not afraid to use either course of action in order to keep the board enjoyable for everyone else.
Banning: I hope I never have to do this, but the option is available to me if I need it. Posters will be banned for being blatantly racist, sexist, vicious, rude, vulgar, offensive, or otherwise disturbing the peace, including continuous webmaster/fan bashing. Banning will only occur when all other forms of restriction of this behavior have failed. This will work on a "three strikes" policy:
There is no set time frame for any ban; whether it is temporary or permanent rides on the seriousness of the offense. However, the offense usually has to be rather serious to warrant a ban in the first place, meaning that the ban will likely be long-term, unless the offender can later show me that they are worthy of being allowed back.
Spamming: All spammers to the board will be automatically banned. Their post(s) will be deleted and the author will automatically be banned permanently. What constitutes spam? Get-rich-quick scams, posts made solely to pull traffic to a non-Rush website, constant and repeated posting of a Rush or non-Rush nature that adds very little, if anything, to the board, etc. Does this mean that you can't promote your own website, Rush or otherwise, at Weird City? Not at all. I have no problem with someone posting to say, "Hey, check out my new website". However, there is a difference between promoting and spamming. When you promote your site, you post about it occasionally while also contributing to the board in other ways. When you spam, you post about your site and only your site, in an effort to aim the traffic flow in your direction. This is what I will not tolerate.
