What’s up niggaz and niggarettez……….. Yeah this is Warrior bringin’ you the long promised analysis of the “Up in Smoke Tour” Yeah I been to dat shiiit. I saw 3 concerts so far and I might catch one last one….. I never watched it in Cali cuz I havn’t been home for a couple months now…..I got bizness to take care of…Well I caught the concert in Long Island at the Nassau Coliseium and in Chicago at the All state Arena. I also caught a show way up in Canada on Wednesday in Vancouver BC.
Now, here’s what I gotta say about it. TQ was ok….but I honestly think he shouldn’t have been on the tour. The thing that made me laugh the most was Warren G. At all 3 of the events, I laughed my head off. It ain’t a diss, but shiiit, dat nigga always came out and talked like some nerdy white boy. I ain’t jokin it wuz funny how this nigga wuz talking. But of all the people I have to give props to Warren for sounding almost like he sounds on his CD. Of them all he came closest. But he’s gotta quit actin like he’s a OG, cuz we all know the truth…… Eminem’s set was ok, I found it way too plain. Also, Eminem was the one who sounded least like what he sounds on CD. I still consider him to be the most over rated rapper out there. Sure Eminem had every girl screamin, but all the homies had to go through torture. His set was on a bunch of big white letters with Eminem on it, and a small stage. The worst set was warrens, a little box with a door and with the DJ sittin on top. But I gotta give props to Cube, he had a good set up, and his shit was tight. Of all the performances, I liked Cube’s the most. Listening to him was like taking a ride back in time…to tha good ol’ dayz. Sure Cube don’t rhyme as hard as before, but he never lost the intensity. He hyped the crowd up and killed the mic. Dre and Snoop had the best set….then again it was really their concert. Snoop sounded a bit off, but what really surprised me was Dre. Dre was right on the dolla billz, he sounded jus like the album. Considering his slow and heavy flow, I thought he’s have trouble rappin “Forgot About Dre” like he raps on the album, cuz we all know the studio can do wonders…(for example Eminem’s comic voice…but wears off out of the studio). But Dre was right on. I thought the skull wasn’t too creative, too much of that Austin shiit from WWF. It was a cool effect to have it speak and come forward, but It looked to played out. The Lowrider was crazy, and they mostly brought it out for let me ride, and DOC was sittin in the back. Dre also introduced some new chick signed to Aftermath, and she almost wrecked the hype. Nate Dogg was cool, and Ren was around too. Ren had a small part for Hello, and he sounded good, like he’s just dying for another chance to blow up. I can’t remember his name…..that comedian guy was off the hook. He said so much shit it made me laugh.
Chicago was really hyped about the Tour, cuz even though they really on the East Coast…. Those muthaphuckaz are more West Coast rap fans….I had a good time there, and the show was off the hook. Everybody was singing along an shit, and I was surprised there were no fightz and that it was clean. I wasn’t expecting Chicago to be so cool with everything. I’d say Cube owned the night cuz he was cheered on maybe even a bit more then Dre at this show. Chicago fans are underrated, these niggaz know there rap shit. Show wise it was the best cuz everyone was there and it was well executed. New York was OK! It was worth the money, but I wasn’t feelin the city…..jokin, I gots love fo NY. But this was the worst show of the three I saw, I’m not sayin it was bad. I’m sayin I had more fun at the other two. Real OG was with me at this concert, and the dat nigga wuz jus more busy working on pickin up a hoe then he was about watchin this show. So that nigga also messed this one up for me.
But the best show was Vancouver….not in terms of the show, it lacked cuz a lot da rapperz were missing…but the audience. I laughed so fuckin hard. Firstly, 95% of the Audience was white. 1% was black. I remember walking into the staduium and sayin what the PHUCK! It was like a damh N’Sync concert….I ain’t jokin shiit was scary. I was walkin around, and damh people were looking at me like…..oh gosh, I just saw a black dude. Like heads would spin when I walked by. And I think some of the lil’ teenie girls probably thought I was a rapper on the tour or sumpthin. It was me and the homiez(also black) and white boys were like movin out of our way when we walked, cuz of the stereo type that’s in a white mans head…their black and their CRAZY! Well obcourse the stadium like the other shows I went to was hot boxed as soon as the show began. But another funny thing was the white girl fans. About half the audience was under 17 white girls who came to see Eminem, and surprisingly it was the most packed stadium I went too. The luxery boxes were filled, and people we like about to fall out and every seat including some that couldn’t even see the front of the stage was sold. THEZE WHITE PEOPLE ARE CRAZY FO’ RAP! Then there were the white boyz there, they made me laugh even worse. Some white boyz were wearing home made NWA shirtz…… and trying to talk like a nigga. Well now to the best part. Well as soon as the show finished, I found a way to go back stage. I saw some body guards, and started talking to them…a couple minutes later Xzibit showed up out of no where. So I talked to him for a bit, and even he was laughing at the audience and how these people were so hyped up. Honestly these people were cheering for no reason. But I talked to Xzibit about his new album, and he really wouldn’t say much, and his body guard gave me a whole stack of his demo CD’s for the upcoming album. The CD has three bits of songs from the new upcoming album, and it has a couple minutes of all the tight tracks Xzibit has done. Then the nigga pulled out a Cigar, lit it, passed it to a body guard and the passed it to me after puffin’ a bit. By this time we were close to his bus and I was walkin with them. Then people saw him walkin with me and outta no where came like 5000 white girls running like there ain’t no tommorow. Xzibit went running into the bus, but his body guard told me to wait and they passed me a couple Xzibit Restless LP T-Shirts. So shit was ok. But even though the audience wasn’t Ghetto enough for me, I have to say it was the better show cuz there was so much hype there. It was peaceful, which allowed a nigga to really enjoy the show instead of deciding who to jack and who to beat up in the parking lot later on…..and there was excitement even though the watered down line up had no…Cube, Mack 10, WC, Nate Dogg, Ren, East Sidaz, Kurupt, NWA….but DOC was still there.
The NWA reunion was ok. They finshed it off in Chicago with Chin Check, but I still don’t like the idea. I thinking their pushin the idea at a wrong time with the wrong way. I’ve waited almost 10 years for another NWA album, and I still think it’s wrong to have Snoop in it. If they include Snoop in it, I say they shouldn’t call it NWA outta respect for the past Legacy. It should be the 4 remaining people…Dre, Cube, Ren, and the retired producer, porno king DJ Yella AKA Tha Kidd(his alias on the pornos he makes) and some unreleased Eazy. Phuck it, I’d rather not see a reunion if the album is gonna be just another rap album. Sometimes when you try to build on something, you ruin the legacy of it. Somethings are better left untouched.
Now, this is what I didn’t like about the concert, props to the dead rapperz. I want to give props to TQ for givin major props to Eazy….and some to Tupac. Then during the show, Dre had a part for all the dead rappers. Sure he did it outta respect, but I think he should have left it at Eazy and Tupac. I remember he mentioned Eazy first and the crowd went crazy, and for Tupac the crowd was just as loud. I think it was good that they gave props to Roger Troutman as well, cuz a lot of the Westcoast hits in the 90’z were samplin his shiit. But then BIG and PUN, damh I don’t think they deserved it. Eazy and Tupac were known by most people on the tour. BIG and PUN were two fat muthaphuckaz, who had nothing much to do with the concert. Do you think Fat Hoe and his Hooker Squad would give Eazy any props if they went on tour? HELL NO. They’d be all on Pun’s dead nutz. And then that hoe ass sluty bitch Puff, don’t probably even know who Eazy is, so I doubt he’d even ever say RIP EAZY-E, he’d be more like BIG this big that and how he likes it up the ass. I jus think they should’ve stuck to Eazy , Tupac and Roger Troutman on the Dedicatation thing.
But all of the three concerts were the best concert/event I’ve ever been too. Definatly the bomb. If you missed it, you missed the best concert ever, I know it will never happen like this again. This was defiantly a once in a life time chance. Worth every dollar. I didn’t have the time before to update and tell yall all about it, but I also wanted to see a couple concerts tp compare them and then let yall know about it. This is all for now…I’m sure I bored yall by now. If you want to know anything just e-mail me at the new address:
