All About ME....
Where to begin? I have had such an amazing life so far in the experiences I have had and the people I have been privileged to meet. Its been not only fun, and at times tragic, but I have met the love of my life along the way. I thoroughly believe that each and everybody you meet not only makes an impression on you, but it makes us who we are in the grand scheme of things...
My name is Chad, I'm a 31 year old, soon to be 32 in Dec 2002. Oh how time flies!! I am a GWM -- Lord knows that does not mean GUY-WITH-MONEY as Guido had thought in 'Kiss me, Guido'; but just a simple gay white male. I may be 'simple' but I do try and enjoy life with the people I love and care about to the fullest extent possible.
Ok, Down to business.
I was born and raised Chad Andrew Christensen in a small town called Fort Dodge in the State of Iowa. I was raised with two half sisters and a half brother; all from my mothers previous marriage. My father had two children from a previous marriage as well, however, I never actually 'grew up' with them. I only saw them from time to time during special occasions such as Christmas or Thanksgiving. I can say that I had an awesome upbringing my mother is a wonderful woman who I respect and love very much. My father...well... as Forest Gump would say "And thats all I'm gonna say 'bout that...". My mother still lives in Fort Dodge with my awesome step-dad Larry. He has been a great father to me when I needed him most. I loved my childhood and I find myself thinking about it from time to time just smiling...
I graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High school in 1989. To say I graduated, was to say that I just got that necessary piece of paper. I never excelled in HS. I never tried to. I was a dreamer and always fantasized about different things. I do excel in things I enjoy and find actual interest in. Such as computers, technology, architecture, home improvement/renovations and the like. 20 Days after I graduated I started my 5 year tour of service in the US Army. I chose to become a Military Policeman, due mainly in part that my buddy chose the same MOS (military occupational specialty). During that time I found that there actually was another world out there to explore and learn from rather than just the small town life I grew up knowing in Iowa. The Army was an immediate shocker to say the least. But I fit in with all the others that were in the same predicament as me (ripped from all that you know -- put in a place, shaven head and all, with others that oddly looked just like you) and I gained friends of the caliber that I haven't been able to find since. I was able to tour parts of Europe during my 2 years stationed in Germany and thoroughly loved every minute of it. I'm big in to Architecture and history; and Germany was filled with all sorts of interesting places to visit and explore. Very rich culture! I also spent a majority of my time at Fort Stewart in Georgia. It actually was my first duty station and after my tour in Germany my last duty station as well. During my second tour of FSGA I was attached to a MP Straf unit that traveled extensively augmenting units all over the world. For 4 months I was stationed in the country of Panama. Thats where I was lucky enough to learn how to scuba dive and earn my certification as an open water diver thru PADI.
After my 5 year commitment was complete I chose to exit military life and try my hand at civilian life. Boy what a change! I ended up in South Florida where I joined the Broward Sheriffs office as a Corrections Deputy. I was hoping to change to law enforcement later on as I had grown to enjoy that profession as an MP. However the then Sheriff forbid that sort of transfer and I ended up certifying myself in law enforcement and landed a job with the City of Miramar, just outside of Fort Lauderdale. I worked as a police officer for nearly 5 years. I accomplished many things including becoming a traffic homicide investigator and joining the motor cycle 'traffic' unit. The one thing I had tried to find, but was lacking... a true love.
I had dated here and there, but was very difficult to find that right fit, until July 17th 2000. I met Andrew thru an online profile and I knew, before I even talked with him, that he was 'the one'. The only issue was that he was in Massachusetts and I was in Florida. We had conversations every day, be it email or phone. We grew to learn about each other and to love each other. December of 2001 I had came to an impasse with law enforcement and I wanted a change. And boy was it a big one!!!
I resigned from my position as a police officer and moved up to be with Drew in February 2002. We have been together ever since. I was lucky enough to land a tech position with AT&T and I love it! I have learned so much and the opportunities are incredible!
Drew and I have 3 'kids', 2 cats (Alpha & Max) and a pooch (Toby). They pretty much dominate our time together. We love em!
And life goes on....
