FOUND!!! By posting my Carnaval pictures to the 'Net,
Chris (on the right)
was able to find me after all these years!!! WOW!!!
This year's theme had to do with the birth of my great-nephew
just a few days before Carnaval was celebrated in Austin,
so I included the 'It's A Boy' theme along with my Mambo King outfit.
I wore a plastic 'It's a Boy' flag pinned to the back of my shirt,
and made a necklace of cigars, baby booties, a rattle and teething ring!
Although tickets were sold out by the time I decided to purchase my ticket,
I stood in line outside the door for only a short while. A Hawaiian-dressed
young lady
sold her extra ticket to me, and I was in like Flint in no time!
I had a great time, though I mostly observed from the bleachers;
like last year, the music was hot, with Sambaxe playing some killer batucada;
and there was a fair share of wildly dressed (and undressed) revelers!
