Park Directory

I've arranged this site primarily as a photo guide with visit tips. In doing so, I've divided my photos into three main areas: The Safari Ride, Countdown to Extinction (The Dinosaur Ride), and Various Animals and Park Attractions. Use these links to find the sites you'd like to visit.

Tip #4. Bring your own snacks, maybe even a lunch. Disney's Animal Kingdom does not have the dining variety found in the other three ticketed Disney parks; moreover, the food is expensive as it is throughout the Disney complex. Fresh fruit, candy, drinks are sold in the park, but you may want to pack your own snacks because selection is limited.

Tip #5. Bring extra film if you plan on taking photos. A 36 exposure roll, 800 ASA, costs nearly $9.00, including tax. For this, you can by a three pack outside the park.

Tip #6. Late in the day, take the train to the Nursery and Petting Zoo. You'll find low crowds in the afternoon. Plus it's a good place to take a break from the high activity in the park.

Tip #7. Is it an all-day park? Yes and no, we spent most of the day there, but we enjoy viewing animals. Overall, this is the least developed of the four parks. Even with Asia open, it will still have fewer attractions than the Disney/MGM Studio. My best advice: again, go early; if you want to leave mid-afternoon, you can. If you want to say, as you might, you'll be able to.

Tip #8. Is it worth the price? Honestly, it's not a bargain at $42.00 a day, adult admission, but if you work it into a multi-park package, it's well worth the visit, especially if you spend the evening at Epcot or The Magic Kingdom. In short, it's a Disney-ized version of the San Diego Wild Animal Park (California). Many of the attractions/concepts are similar. Yet, the San Diego Wild Animal Park has more animals and charges about $27.00 a day, which is, in my opinion, closer to what the Animal Kingdom is worth. Regardless, if you're set on going, even at $42.00, it's still an interesting day.

Check this link out to my favorite author, and my beau. He just got a book deal, but that's still hush-hush. Details later. The site was developed by WebDelSol and The Literary Review after he won a second national prize.
