{yawn} only got about three hours of sleep today. We set out at about 6:30 am and the drive went fairly quickly. We saw a lot of pretty scenic, stuff on the way up the coast. We got there FARILY quickly too. We got there by 10:30. We drove over 500 miles, so it was cool that we got there so fast. We found our way onto the campus, and found about 10 people camped out around back where the equipment was being unloaded. I knew from the last tour that it would be around the other side of the venue, so the three of us went over there and sat around. We befriended the wackiest secuirty guard. She was quite fond of davids 8X10 of the pussy face, and kept doing it with eery perfection. About 1 o'clock steve confirmed that we were on the right side, so everyone from the other side came over. I was #9 btw :] As the day progressed, massive amounts of people showed up. Most everyone in the first half of the line were awesome. I had a ton of fun with everyone. People that showed up at 3 o'clock and were number 50 on werent very nice. It got really stressful. We could tell the number system would probably fail.
In between all this time, like i said, i had fun with everyone. I felt today is when i got along with matt page really well for the first time. Its kind of like we 'bonded'. Our big group immerged him in our potty mouths. hahaha. it was all good. About 3ish we saw Colin Devlin walk out of the venue. I didn't have my CD with me, nor my camera and i really didn't want to approach him, but matt dragged me over to him. And i'm really thankful that he did. I was as giddy as a fucking schoolgirl. haha. matt introduced me, and handed him a blank piece of paper that he signed to me :]
hahaha. i rambled on about how i had seen them the previous year and really enjoyed them, and how that i was really glad they were touring along with tori. When he asked my name, he called it a 'good irish name' [just like joshua jackson did. hahaha] and i commented that i was visiting there in the winter. he said they had been on tour so long they didnt remember what it looked like. aw. I think that was about all. we let colin go on his walk after that. hee. i floated back over to where we were sitting and just like, glowed. hahaha. man, i love him.
the crowd got really restless, and we had people refusing numbers and it was just, stressful. we wanted to go in the baracades and get it over with. So we walked over and had a little talk with puss, the secuirty guard we had befriended earlier. She kicked ass. she organized the line, and this other security guard made sure we all walked in nice and calmly, according to our numbers. 100 people...and we all just walked in. It was really cool. It would have been a stampeede if the secuirty hadnt of come through like that.
I was second to meet her. Jeremey whispered and reminded her that she said she'd play Famous Blue Raincoat for us. She asked which show most of us would be at, and he told her both, so she said she'd do it in Santa Barbra for us. This made us realize that she finally saw us 'west coasters' as a group. It was realllllllllllly neat. I also realized that when i meet tori i just stand there. I never grasp for her attention. I stand there and watch her and let her talk to all the people behind me, and i wait for her to turn to me. Its kinda cool. So when she turned to me she said 'hi sweetie' and i said hi and i gave her my letter, and i handed her a letter from my friend christa. I really dont remember much else. I remember i had my 8X6 of us in portland and she looked at it and said 'is this for us, or should i sign it?' and i asked her to sign it, and she signed it toerin love tori. i thought it was cool that it was love tori :].
then david had her sign his big version of the pussy picture, and she was totally cracking up at it. he was telling her how happy it made him and she was just like 'well, whatever works for you' and it was really funny. she signed it to him with a little sad face. awww..it was cute tho. So there ya go. meet n greet fun.
afterwards we all went to dennys and that was fun and all. then we made everyone listen to the pussy song [lords of acid] in keeping with the theme of the day. and i was just having a total blast. I didnt have a ticket, so i bought one. not the best..but i was so tired it worked for me. It was second row all the way on the side, but near the stage. hey, the seat made me happy..and i got to sit by jason and cindy. so it was fun fun.
i watched and drooled over the devlins, they tried to play a new song, but something went wrong with the bass. Colin said he'd fiddle around on his guitar, so he played a little random song and it was really cute. yay devlins. hee
as for the show - its one of my favorites. It was just SO DAMN fun. I dont even know what made it so great. The vibe, the songs EVERYTHING! After the show ended it was one of those moments where we all kinda jumped up and down screaming going 'what the fuck was that!?'

smells like teen spirit and american pie were absolutley gorgeous. I had never heard them before, so i was quite pleased to hear them. I also had yet to hear the new version of Doughnut song. it was absolutley beautiful. I wished i could have heard it again. This was also my first time hearing sneeze this tour. Hotel was a shocker. We were not expecting it yet. My friend had been asking for it, and since tori plays the keyboard in this song, she was facing us and totally found my friend...it was really neat. During Cocaine she contiunted to 'find' us :] And ofcourse, the leopard suit was the BEST thing ever. We were just like cracking up the entire song. And she looked SO HAPPY and amused with herself. She came hopping out. hahaha. it was soooooooooooooooooo priceless.
And pretty good year, ofcourse, was absolutley wonderful. Really great live. and i was quite pleased to see it. Afterwards we all screamed a little bit and then got on our way to santa barbra. It was a horrid, HORRID drive that included speeding tickets, booked motel rooms all the way down the coast, fights, and exhaustion. it was horrible. We had to shell out 100$ for a shower and about four hours of sleep...until the santa barbra show.
