figuring me out.
january - i don't really remember january much. as far as i remember, everything with my friends went really well. we were all in harmony. i saw stanley quite a bit. i was kind of at war with dorothy cos she first moved out here, but by the end of the month, we began talking a bit. i also got to see oasis, finally, at the end of january. and valerie and i went to our second movie premire - for spice world! and i saw can't hardly wait a lot :]
february - i don't remember it too much. i know my relationship with christina and nicky were a little strained, but it was pretty much fixed by the end of the month. i also met marilyn manson during this month.
march - christ took me to the soul train awards, and we almost died on the way. val and i were in high mode of the celebrity kick - we did the blockbuster entertainment awards in hopes of seeing kate or gina, but got our billy zane obsession enhanced by a wave we'd like to think had to do with recognition :] we camped out for oscar bleacher tickets, and i was crazy obsessive over scott weiland. and to end the month, we went to the academy awards and spent 3 days in hell on those damn bleachers. "WE LOVE OSCAR YES WE DO WE HAVE BETTER SEATS THAN YOU" Oscar chatter! Grease came back out in theaters which was fun, and i saw portishead, one of the best shows of the year.
april - i saw a dissapointing radiohead and get ass sick. the tori madness begins, the club tour fiasco. i was horribly sick and waiting by a phone for the news ...i got tickets. val and i go see mono that suck, but get to see madonna up close, and i got to see the devlins again. I also saw third eye blind, which was one of the best shows of the year. front row. total fun ness. i also got a copy of tori's new album at the end of the month...
may - did i mention tori madness? the LA club show on my birthday, and the breakfast the following morning. the release of choirgirl. the kick ass meet n greet at leno, where she makes me happy. traditional margaritas at aculpulco, just a great month. i also got to see and meet garbage again, where they put on just an awesome show, and i survive my first semi rough GA show up front dead center of the pit - two days later, at a bjork show, in the same spot. i almost die. my first time being pulled out of a crowd by big security men. and it was BJORK! i began to get close to jeni at the end of the month
june - my obsession with the weenie roast, which i did end up going to, thank god. i went back to graduation and got EXTREMLEY nostalgic, and tried to get in contact with old friends. it was pretty much a failure. oh yes, and the birth of the puzzle! i really don't have strong memories of june.
july - the 4th of july was super fun. nick val and david and i hung out and nicky drank all of our tequila and it was a super fun night. i saw the smashing pumpkins and the performance blew me away. i got really dramatic about the whole oregon thing, and realized just how badly i needed to go and stop this 3 year soap opera. christ was in NY for the summer, and our relationship got a little stressed. i spent a large part of the month being really stressed about getting a job. REALLY stressed. i applied at over 45 places. it was really traumatic. haha, a shitty month right? so at the end of the month i went to a sean lennon concert, and i got to meet elijah wood. WONDERFUL. One of the major highlights of the year :] the next day i got to see lisa loeb and rufus wainwright and that was super wonderful as well. big swing of a re-newed elijah obsession follows :]
august - i faked a job and got permission to go to oregon. i was busy with travel arrangments, and making plans for vegas and stuff. i started my next semester of college, and dove into the photography thing which is now such a huge part of my life! Then nicky and i got to see the spice girls! that was highly anticipated and not dissapointing in the least! it was super fun and i got to see stanley before he went off to school which was nice. i think this is when i realized how intensley i felt about dawson's creek. i had been watching it since the first season, but this is where the adoration just struck me.
september - not much. in the early part of the month :] i went to oregon and i met ... well most of you know the story. that was a life changing moment in my life. and 3 short days after i met them, i saw tori. nine times. up and down the coast. they were wonderful shows with irreplaceable memories that i will cherish forever. however, i lost two of my very close friends in the middle of this. the close of the month brought me missing dorothy, who was on the road, as well as the two close friends that i lost.
october - this month was filled with me missing my friends a lot. a LOT. i also went to knotts scary farm, which was really fun, dove into the WB fully, and started my new job at the arrowhead pond. which i loved. a LOT. oh yaw, i also saw pj harvey! :]
november - ah november. november was pretty much me working, and still spending *LOTS* of time in the darkroom, not paying much attention to my other classes. i began speaking again with one of the friends that i had lost. but just talking. then, right after thanksgiving i flew off to the midwest and met up with many wonderful people and saw the final shows of the current tori amos tour.
december - the tour went on into november, and when it was over i spent time with friends in minneapolis before flying home.when i got home, i found that tori had mailed me a note, and that was an extremley important moment in my life as well. However, i also found that i had lost my job. our company had been bought out. it was really depressing. i saw dorothy a lot this month, and just had fun with my friends. just before christmas i was able to spend time with the two people i lost in september. i have been fortunate enough to reconcile one of those friendships. the best christmas present i have gotten..
i can't say whether 1998 was a good year or not. it had EXTREME high moments, and extreme low ones. the year started out pretty good, but a lot of inward soul searching was done as well. which became pretty depressing. the tori experiences were simply priceless...and i can't even express what they meant to me. i met so many wonderful people this year, and i hold them all close to my heart. but i had a lot of heartache. SO MANY relationships ended - whether they were three year 'relationships", or my best friends. so. here's to a better year. lets make the most of the last year of this century. cheers.
