1. What name do you go by?
HERA: Hera, after the grece godist of love.
2.Could you name the crews your down with?
HERA:U.S.A crew, just for the Abris. That´s all.
3. When and why did you start doing graffiti?
HERA: I started in 1994 but were´nt active until 1996
why?...it wasn´t anything better to do at the time.
4. How many pieces have you done, until now?
HERA: About 75, a few in Gävle, a few trains and alot of walls
in Västerås.
5. What do you feel is important with graffiti?
HERA: To always have something to do, to always keep life
in an interesting perspective and live life exciting.
6. Do you have a funny moment to tell us?
HERA: I´m not an funny guy, but one time me and Elak were out
bombing we had walked for about 3 miles when we took a rest
right outside an "kiosk" during our stay at the bench a red Saab
pulled up behind us and started flashing it´s lights at us
we figured the Saab didn´t wanted two nice boys sitting at the public bench
so we started moving our asses, the car followed us in a speed of an snail.
The Saab owners must have thought they were Roland Hassel or something.
I don´t know what they were up to but after a while they went of to herass
someone else.
7. What do you think about the "buff campaine" in Västerås?
How do you react upond it?
HERA: It´s very unnessicary to clean up the tunnels in those there
should always be graffiti, it´s just costs alot of money that
can be used to other things more important, like wellfear or schools.
How do I react...I don´t give a fuck, I just go on painting.
8. What do you get your inspiration from? some graffiti artists or others?
HERA: When I´m in love I use the Hera name, so my girls inspire me.
I also must say that that writers that got their own style inspires me
people like Out, Shit, Raw and Jewel has nice styles I think, so when I
see an new piece by them it starts to bouble in my head.
9. You said you been painting in Gävle, what do think about the graff scene
in V-ås compared to other cities such as Gävle?
HERA: Nowdays every city in sweden has an big graffiti scene, but I think
Sthlm and V-ås has the biggest. Västerås a few years ago had an really intresting
graf scene but has now gone back a bit, I don´t know were guys like TGM,
THE, FBI and others went, it´s sad I think.
10. Do you consider yourself to be foremost a hip-hopper or a graffiti artist?
HERA: I´m a hip-hopper but even if you not listening to hip hop music as a
graffiti artist you are a hip-hopper, Graffiti is hip hop and viceversa.
11. Do you watch alot of hip hop documentaries? wich one do you like the best?
HERA: I haven´t seen so many, they are kinda hard to get...I saw Stylewars
a while ago but I don´t know. I like "Hera fucks the city up part III" th best, ha ha.
12. Have you ever got caught because of graffiti?
HERA: Nope! I got caught but never had to pay one krona.
13. What do you wanna accomplish with your art?
HERA: I want to use my cans to express myself instead of expressing myself
in an violent way, but I also want to be seen, it´s a great feeling.
14. Do you steal your cans, or buy em? Do you think you must steal em to be "real"?
HERA: I doesn´t wanna answer that first question, and ofcourse you must´nt steal
the cans. If you can afford to buy them you can do that it´s all up to the person himself
but graffiti is an very expensive hobby if you buy your cans.
15. Any last comments?
HERA: Keep on the good work all the people in v-ås, Give your moms a hug
instead of an fist when you come home, always be nice to your friends.
Aggression always comes back to you!!
