"Artist Ann Stretton is even punnier than your ol' cowhand Frank here at GIST Web Picks. No, it's true. On her engagingly designed Ye-Olde-West-meets-Blade-Runner showcase site, her statement-of-purpose is "The Ann-ifesto," and her digital, silk-screen-style portraits, "The Annie Warhol Gallery." You go, girl! Her very Annie-mated computer art includes kaleidoscopic images and screensaver-ish vector-graphic waves, all of which gives the feeling of someone talented just having fun with their new toy though at least it doesn't look like it should be hanging in a Ramada Inn. That last remark's an in-joke-or possibly an inn-joke-based on a line from Stretton's often-bitter autobiography and various other rants and raves about things that inspire her Annie-mosity. If you want to see what the art world is like for the ninety-nine percent of artists who aren't David Hockney, Julian Schnabel or other media darlings, then Annie-set yourself down here and drink it all in." -Frank Lovece

The Aesthetic Pharmacy is one of those rare sites where everything just balances perfectly. It's a true delight from the moment it starts loading to the moment you leave. Ann Stretton, the author, has obviously put tons of work in on this site -- and that work has really paid off from a user's perspective. And Ann's sense of humor keeps you chuckling as your browse. A true delight.Be sure to check out the 'Ann-imated' lava lamps, laser light shows, 'Ann-imated' kaleidoscopes, and beautiful digital art. And be sure to check out the free GIFShop while you're there. But whatever you do, don't miss the "Annie Warhol Gallery," where you can "submit [your] photo to be Warholized for 15 minutes of Interfame."
All Ann's graphics are 100% original (by Ann herself) -- and all created on a Mac (of course! we already said they were beautiful!).
