The stairway.
Going up!
As you start up the stairs, you can tell that the draft you felt earlier is now definitly coming from them. The stairway spirals upwards, each stair being made of black marble, with no cracks or signs of wear. There are minor pieces of artwork on the walls, but nothing catches your eye as being spectacular. After walking for what seems to be far too long for it to have been only one floor, you reach a landing. You stop to catch your breath, and look both down and up. Since this is a spiral staircase, you can only see up to the last bend, and neither view is in any way illuminating. As you examine the landing, you notice what could be a button, inset in the wall such that only the careful traveler would notice it. You may push the button, or continue up the stairway. As always, you may still turn back.
