This is Sailor Mars, she is 14 and her birthday is April 17th. Her name is Rei Hino, it means Soul of Fire. She attends a private girls school where she is considered a "queen" and other students wait on her. Her favorite colors are red and black. Her favorite foods are Fugu (Puffer fish) and Thai food. She dreams of being a singer/songwriter, a model, a wonderful Seiyuu and a wife. She lives with her grandfather at Hikawa Jinja. (a temple) She is a priestess at the Temple and uses her training there to help the Scouts.

She is very competitive, stubborn and strong-willed. She is not afraid to say what she thinks and is very short tempered. She argues with Usagi a lot and is irritated by Usagi's consistent clumsiness. The fights are usually due to Rei's big mouth and Usagi being a crybaby. She is really good friends with Serena, but can get irritated easily. She has a great fighting spirit and is a formidable opponent. She can sense danger. She thinks she should be leader, but later realizes that Serena is a good leader and helps out as a strong shoulder during a crisis.

She says "Mars Power", "Mars Star Power" and "Mars Crystal Power" to turn into Sailor Mars. "Fire Soul" is a large fire ball. When she says "Mars Flame Sniper" she gets a bow and a flaming arrow. "Fire Soul Bird" and "Mars Firebird Strike" creates a bird of fire. "Mars Fire Ignite" sends a controlled burst of fire. "Burning Mandala" causes several rings of fire to surround the enemy. For " Akuryou Fugi no Ofuda" she chants on a piece of paper " Rin, pyou, tou, sha, kai, jin, restu, sai, zen. Akuryou taisan!" the paper then can stun or remove evil. It comes from her training at the Temple. "Anti-Evil Sign" and "Mars Fireball Charge", looks like a scroll, hits the enemy on the forehead and returns then to normal. "Mars Firestorm Flash" causes a continuous stream of fire.
