APPENDIX J:
DELETE/UNDELETE PRINTER METHOD
• Are you tired of trying to fix those printer parameters, on so many stations?.
• Was the printer installed with the wrong type?.
• Are you replacing a printer with another of a different type?
In any of these cases I recommend you to follow the "Delete/Undelete" method:
a. Using System Definition DELETE this printer from the system configuration.
b. Create a Committal diskette.
c. Pass this Committal diskette thru ALL the stations in your system.
d. WARNING: If this printer was 'direct connected' to a 51 station, manually remove the file:
/usr/fox/sp/files/cs_cfg.pars
or just the section referencing this printer (if a second printer is also
configured).
e. Using System Definition correctly ADD this printer back to the system configuration.
f. Create a Committal diskette.
g. Pass this Committal diskette thru ALL the stations in your system.
I know, this might take a looooooong time if you have several nodes and multiple
stations, however in some cases this could be the ONLY way to have your printer working again.
