Future Products from PowerLeap

Well I have some news on some interesting products from powerleap.  All three are not released yet, but should be out real soon.  This web page was created directly from information obtained by PowerLeap and they are the first views on these great upcomming products, if they all perform as well as the Powerleap adapter does, I think these will all be hits as well.

"Here's a photo of the K6-III adapter (rev. 1).  Note that there are now two inductor coils (the  wire- wrapped doughnuts) instead of one.  That's for the increased power load of the K6-III, which is really getting up there at 12 amps.  The power connector is also of a higher guage, so as to reduce heat. This version is ready to go but we're making a few more improvements, so we don't expect to be selling this until early May."

Also the full scale release of the AMD K6-3 is not happing until mid to late April, which may be another facto slowing things down.

"The 2nd photo is the LPX board PCB.  Note the extension pieces to accommodate different rear panel arrangements.  This project has been pushed back a bit, due to workload considerations.  I'd say it will be out in April/June."

This LPX motherboard will have a "K6-III and fit into other LPX cases, such as those made by PB, Dell, IBM and Compaq."

I have to say this is a product I am waiting to see, for those of us that need a BIOS update this just might be the better option for the long run.

"The 3rd photo is our Celeron upgrade (two of them, actually), working in a dual Pentium-II motherboard.  This will be out in April as well, and upgrade P-II systems running at 233, 266, 300, and 333 MHz to 433, 466, and 500 MHz.  It will also accept the "Coppermine" P-III PGA chip that is coming out this Summer, and run at a 100 MHz bus speed as an option (66 or 100 selectable by jumper).  Since Intel won't sell the Slot-1 Celeron in speeds above 400 MHz, this product should have a market as soon as the higher speed PGA chips are out (433 is out and 466/500 to come this year) and people start looking for a cost-effective alternative to the P-II or P-III (or Zeon).  There are some BIOS issues we are studying now, and then we'll go to BETA test."

The latest new I have on these is they will be avaliable for $29.95 (no CPU, of course) and may be avaliable as early as May.

Thanks for the information Nate and thanks for the dedications in inventing new products to help us keep our old systems alive.

Well folks that is all I have for now, I will post more information as soon as I get it.  I have no idea on pricing for any of these, we will have to wait for release date.
