Purpose:
This form provides an easy interface to the Usenet (through mail-to-news gateways). Comparing to regular mail client this form has advantage in ease of changing identity and gateway selection. Another advantage is that this form is very customizable. The applet operating underneath this form also preserves the user's IP from appearing in message header or being stored in log files of mail2news gateway.

General Usage Information:
To post a message to newsgroup(s) by means of this form do the following:

Fill out the form above (at least required fields)
Click "Send" button.
Allow 2-30 minutes for message to be delivered to your Usenet server.

Version 2.0 of the Poster allows user to insert some additional information by means of "Options" button. Online help available in "Options" window.

Fields Description:
Gateway: - Required
This list contains the names of mail-to-news gateways. Simply choose one according to your location. Gateways are listed in decreasing reliability order. [ By the way, if you are aware of any other working gateways, feel free to e-mail me. I can add them to this list.]
From(Name):
This field may contain your name, as you want it to appear in posting. ( ex.: John Smith )
Form(Email): - Required
This field should contain the e-mail address, which will appear in posting. ( ex.: jsmith@xyz.com )
Subject: - Required
This field should contain a subject of posting.
Organization:
This field may contain a name of your organization. (ex.: XYZ Corporation )
Newsgroups: - Required
This filed should contain a list of newsgroups separated by commas. Spaces are not allowed! ( ex.: misc.test,alt.test ) [If you want to make a test posting, use misc.test newsgroup]
Message:
The content of your posting.
Save Identity Information checkbox:
This allows you to avoid reentering of identity information; saves values of "From(Name)", "From(Email)" and "Organization" fields. All collected information is being stored in YOUR computer, by means of Persistent Cookies mechanism. Information is restored automatically, when you return to this page. You may also use "Defaults" button to restore identity information manually. For paranoid: to delete all information click "Clear", check "Save Identity Information" and then click "Send".

Inside look:
This form operate through Ultimate Mailer java applet. The information from the form fields is collected be JavaScript function. Then this information is passed to the Ultimate Mailer java applet by means of Netscape's LiveConnect technology. When all necessary information had been accepted by applet, "send" command is issued. The applet receives "send" command and initiates the connection with Geocities mail program. Applet creates the mail message in appropriate for mail-to-news gateway format and sends it.
